...who has had the nerve and audacity to destroy a sacred Virago by triking it or are there others out there (and willing to admit it)? I am looking through the Yamaha section, so far without results.

I think Viragos are wonderful bikes, and I'll bet it makes a fantastic trike!!! Be proud to have something so unique and beautiful

Don't get me wrong Nana, I'm not complaining and it's not one-up(wo)manship. I would just like to hear about other Virago trike owners experiences. Such things like front wheel wobble, tyre wear, rectifiers etc. All things that have been teething problems with mine. Are they unique to this trike or is it a common problem with the Virago.
I think I've seen pics but not done one myself.I bet its a sweet ride for sure.Is it going through alot of rectifiers?

If you look into the nine_of_diamonds thread you will see my Virago there.
It handles really well which is handy for the type of roads we have in Scotland.
I have replaced two rectifiers in the three and a half years I have had the trike. Still don't know why they are failing. Which is why I would like to "talk" to other Virago owners to see if it is a Virago thing.
Tried talking to people on this side of the pond but they all seem to have a problem in communicating ie they never reply to my posts. Could be because I'm female?
Can't help you on why noone is replying.I'm not familiar with the working of the Virago.I do know the charging system doesn't have alot of reserve on the V star on that they are based off the Virago motor. That being said I would look at how much power your pulling with the custom lighting and look up the specs on the charging system. Also you need to keep it at 2500 rpm as a min to keep the output up.Try posting with these guys usually can get some response there.http://www.yamahamotorcycleforum.com Sorry i'm not much help but my experience is with the V star 1100.Btw great job on the trike.
