Went up to the Wyoming State HOG rally in Thermopolis, WY and saw some beautiful country up there. Coming into Thermopolis from the south, through Shoshoni, you ride through the Wind River Canyon. The speed limit is 55 or 60 but I always poke along a little slower just to see the views. Been there several times, but it never gets old.
For our "big ride" we rode north to Cody, WY, then on to the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, up over Bear Tooth Pass and then down into Red Lodge. We had lunch in Red Lodge, went shopping at the vintage candy store, H-D shop, and Bone Daddy's, and then headed back to Thermopolis. On our way back, we stopped in the little town of Bearcreek for some of the best homemade pie ever made.
The whole ride was just over 450 miles and took us 12 hours. LOTS of stops along the way to gawk at the scenery...didn't take one single picture!!!
The trike ran great, with plenty of power going up the pass, and some of the best gas mileage I've gotten so far just crusing around the state....must be that Wyoming Sinclair gas!!!
