How to improve GPS screen viewing?

I've got a Zumo 660 mounted on the fairing of my TriGlide and like many people, I'm having problems seeing the screen clearly. I'm a bit slow on some things, but did finally figure out that my polarized sunglasses were mostly to blame for not being able to see the screen very well. Sun glare is an issue, but not as much as trying to read the screen with polarized sunglasses. I've got flip-up shades, so I can raise them and see the screen fine, but it's a pain to do that everytime I want to see the screen.

My question is this....does anyone make an "anti-glare" screen cover that reverses the polarized sunglasses effect? Not sure if that's even possible, but if it was available, and really worked, I'd buy it in a heatbeat.

The shades don't do anything other than put some shade on the screen, so that's not really a workable solution since the polarized sunglasses still make the screen difficult to see.

Any ideas out there?

A couple of ideas. Try moving your head a little one way or another. I find there are lines of sight that I can read screens through. Also, can't speak for that model, but with my Tom Tom, I was able to download brighter, different colors. Some are clearer in daylight.

I'll give that idea a try, thanks. The 660 has a day and night lighting versions, but even with the darker colors and seemingly brighter screen, I still can't see it with the polarized sunglasses.

My last pair of glasses I ordered without polarizing. Much better. I really don't know why I've always bought polarized sunglasses in the first place.

I usually rely on the audio directions 99% of the time.

I could see buying polarized glasses if I was on the water or snow a lot.

Why did I buy polarized sunglasses? Because the guy selling them to me said I should. Why did he say that? More money for him I guess. I think I"m beginning to agree with you on the need for them while riding. I'm thnking of getting a new helmet with the drop down sun visor and see if that helps. I have never used the audio because I can't stand listening to the nagging "recalculating", but I may give in and hook the audio up so that I can at least hear what I'm supposed to be doing even if I can't see it.

A couple of thoughts... A sun screen might be of some help - here is the one I use and t does cut down on glare on mt Zumo 665

Your Zumo 660 has a setting to turn off the recalculate function - you might try that if hearing the message bothers you...

Regarding your new helmet with the sun shield - ever since I purchased my new Nolan N43 Trilogy with the built in sun shield, I don't even take sunglasses on the bike anymore - they work that good... And the Nolan sun shield is short wnough that you can just look down with your eyes and look below the sun shield to see the GPS screen at full brightness - a nice feature to be sure - you might want to check that on your new helmet...

The zumo 660/665 is able to adjust the screen light to darker. I also am using the same mount and yes it is difficult at times. I just move around some and readjust my sight and some times I have to cup it, I do it safely. I have thought of adding a hood for it.<br />
I also use a flip down shield on my half helmet. You can make the screen brighter.
