    Default What's your favorite GPS?

    Considering the purchase of a GPS for my bike/trike/ sled. Thinking about the Garmin Zumo series. There are different models of the Zumo series. Can anyone share their likes/ dislikes on what they own?

    Thanks, I really enjoy the site!!

    I am very happy with my Zumo 550. Had it for 5 years and it has been trouble free.

    If you don't need extra cost XM radio or weather or bluetooth go with the Zumo 660 otherwise the Zumo 665 is what you want. I don't need either one so I saved a couple hundred dollars. I also have the H-D fairing mounting bracket because I wanted a clean install, not a bunch of wires hanging around.
    Garmin has a new lower cost/feature model, but I'm not up to date on the specs.

    Hard to beat any of the ZUMOs.....My Old ZUMO 450 is over 7 years old, sat out in Major Rain Storms, and been used thousands and thousands of miles on Various Motorcycles, Trikes, Scooters, and my Jeep....it's been an "ANVIL".....

    I have a Zumo 550 also and it has been reliable. The only problem I've had is with the fairing mount. the top locking lever broke and because it's MD at HD I had to go to Garmin for a replacement. Dealing with their Customer Service is trying to put it mildly!! Long waits on hold and Reps with attitudes. - Russ

    I only needed the bare necessities 1) maps 2) go from point A to point B 3) warnings for police cameras

    I didn't want any sounds or voices, NO "traffic" updates. NO radio, blue-tooth, etc.

    * Garmin Nuvi 50 with lifetime maps (I bought it in 2012 ~ it may be a Nuvi 55 this year) 5" color screen $125 + tax

    I mounted it behind the windshield, in case of bug splats and rain drops. If it's raining persistently, I unplug it and put it in my pocket. It's not weather-resistant, and the mini-USB plug wouldn't take any abuse.

    * I mounted it in a Ram B-149Z-GA50U handlebar clamp @ $38

    * I hard-wired it to two of my motorcycles with Garmin power cable # 010-11131-10 @ $25 each.

    I have the H-D Road Tech Zumo 660 fairing mounted and love it!! This is my second one as well, as I let my first one go with my 2008 Ultra that was traded in for my 2013 TriGlide.

    I have had a TOM TOM for about 3 years now and have had no problems or issues but I only use it if I do not know where the hell I am. I just put it in my cup holder when I need it and it works for me , no frills, just does the trick when I need it. I do not want anything more mounted on the handlebars as I want to keep it as clean as possible. just my opinion

    Back in 2007, I bought a Zumo 450 and loved it. Unfortunately, it only lasted about two years before it took a dump. Replaced it with a refurbished 450 and it lasted about a year and then died.

    Even with those problems, I still like the Zumo series and after going without one for three years, I bought the 660 hoping that it will last longer.

    I guess some of us get Luckier than Others sometimes...I looked yesterday, mine is actually 7 years and 3 months old, and been on "at least" 15 Various Motorcycles, 7 Scooters, and my Jeep Cherokee...it's led a Hard Life being owned by me.....
