Is triple tree needed for 2003 1200 sportster with Frankenstein conversion?

Going to pull the trigger on a Frankenstein trike conversion, is the 5° triple really needed? The wife will be driving this for the most part. Are there any other things that I should add after the conversion such beefing motor mounts or anything else?

Thanks

Especially if this is for your wife you need the rake kit! It makes the trike steering significantly easier--like going from old manual steering to power steering.

I'd definately install the additional rake. My wife had a 09 1200 without the rake. It steered much harder than my Tri Glide. We installed the new triple tree and it was like putting power steering on it. I was amazed at the difference.

Also look at the front end shake after the trike is added. A friend did a sporty for his wife & ended up putting on a rake kit for an additional 5*over stock, & still has to do a damper.
I think maybe the 8* would have been better. JMHO......

Is it "needed", no. Will you end up raking it later because it steers so hard? YES. Doing it now will be easier than doing it later.

You're going to have more weight with the conversion. I would make sure the brakes were as good as possible.

I think your wife will love a rake kit, It'll make turning much easier. Check out the add on the right side and pick up one of Zook's rake kits, you can't beat the price and its a quality piece.
