    Default Which Trike Kit

Which if any is the best kit to put on a 2008 or 2009 Goldwing and why?
    Looking at CSC and Roadsmith.
    Thank You
    Mike

I just bought my lehman goldwing about two months ago and it was my first experience with a trike and lehman's.

love the bike, great experience with the dealer,

i don't have anything to compare it with, except the fit and finish and the ride are excellent i would consider them as a prospect also.

so many bikes so little time

I assume that you've narrowed to the two choices because of independent suspension and in my mind that's wise.

I have the CSC (on a HD) and am immensely pleased. I think however, the choice between the two you mention will boil down to aesthetics more than any other issues. (I know some will disagree). That said, both are outstanding trike kits and you will not regret purchasing either of them.

I would only offer two admonitions; rake the front and add the reverse. It will add a few bucks, but it's cheaper during the build than later when you discover the necessity of each.

    Happy decision making and welcome!

Thank you for your input, rake is a given for sure.
I was going to kit my 2002 Ultra, but have sense decided that it makes no sense to do that, so just going to change brands and get a Goldwing Trike.
Will end up with a new unit out of the deal for the same amout of money.

I think the Goldwing will actually be a better trike than a Harley, in the long run.

We have a 2008 Goldwing Trike with a Lehman kit. I strongly recommend the Lehman Kit, but ensure that you have the front raked, cruise control and reverse. If you are in a cold climate I suggest the heated seats and handle bars. In addition, have the air wings put on it because there is alot of heat blowing on you from the engine that sits right in the front. The heat is great if you do winter driving but the summers are killers, smile.

However, bare this in mind, the overall decision as to which kit you should go with is determined by which kits a dealer works on in your area. What I mean is, it makes no since to purchase a Lehman Kit if the repair shop is 300 miles away. In addition, the areas that you travel mostly, what business work on the kit you have.

Just offering my advice in this area.

I went with the Roadsmith cause they sell direct. 18000 miles and so far no problems.

I must tell you that your input on dealer's in my area makes the most sense I have heard yet, for that I truely want to thank you!

So because there is not a dealer for Roadsmith, CSC, etc, here in Arizona, the choices narrowed real quick.
Lehman is here but I don't like them or their price, DFT I can't stand the looks of.

There is a Motor Trike dealer, installer here 100 miles from me.

So I just this morning put a deposit on a new 2008 Pearl White 1800 with the new Motor Trike Fast Back body.
I have to go to Russellville, Ar. to get it, but they are taking my Harley in trade, so will trailer my bike there and pick up the new trike.

    So not much longer !

You are about to embark on a truly wonderful life's journey. Keep us posted and show us pictures when you get it.

BTW, if you find yourself strapped for time, just let me know and I will get the trike and ride it out to AZ for you.

What DFT are you looking at ? If you think the Harley DFT looks like the Honda Goldwing DFT then I can understand your dilemma. Mine looks a lot like the Motortrike except with a much larger trunk capacity and disk brake and the IR Rear end.

I am sorry but I don't like either of the DFT kits.
I am sure they are good kits in their own right, I just don't like the look.

To each his own. I personally don't like the way the trunk sticks out on the MT. I have ridden them all and they all have their fine points and not so great points. All are fine trikes.

You mentioned, <ol class="decimal"><li style="">"I would only offer two admonitions; rake the front and add the reverse."</li></ol>If the OP intends to trike a recent Goldwing (or BMW K LT), he already has reverse. I agree that the rake kit is a valuable option.<br />
