    Default Dyno Results

    Got the Triglide back on Thursday from Roeder Racing in Monroeville...all I can say is WOW.... Here are the before and after numbers... 61.06 HP before...75.22 HP after 75.57 torque before....98.55 torque after.

    Here is what I had done: Roeder Full Tune Dyno... Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather Performance Air Cleaner Kit (Compact Design) removed the Cat. ...Roeder Racing Custom header and Mufflers....

    It took 2 weeks to book the Dyno and they had it for 3 days.

    Have put almost 150 miles on it and will check the gas mileage in the morning. It runs like a completely different Trike.

    Do you know what gear the dyno pull was made in?

    No I don't.... but the mileage indicates they put 95 miles on it during the entire process.

    I have ran 2 tanks of gas and have averaged 34.80 MPG...that is up around 2 MPG over what I used to average... The wife and I are not light weights and all of these miles are 2 up.... pepperpepperpepper

    Ok thanks. So what is the proper gear? Do dyno tuners like to run in a particular gear to get higher numbers?

    The majority of tuners run the bike/ trike in 5th gear.

    Its amazing how much power and torque a 6th gear run kills on the dyno. When we had mine on the dyno I wanted to see what a 6th gear run would do. It kick the crap out of the power and torque in the neighborhood of 8/8.

    Thks Skuuter.... the wife and I are like kids with a new toy. We spent the entire weekend riding. So nice to have some butt to pass someone doing 60 mph. I do have to be careful twisting the throttle when cops are around...it does roar a little... ...

    Now I have to pay for the 10 day Princess cruise I promised wifey if she let me get the work done on the Tri glide.... Hmmmm wonder if I could take the Tri glide along...

    Yes, real old thread revived, but this is about dyno results. Right place?
    Last August I had the 120ST put into my trike, and I never really thought it ran like I thought it should. It just wasn't "crisp". Also, it started to idle real high, 1,500 or so. The HD shop that installed it couldn't dyno trikes and used PV to tune with. Later, I went with the Target Tune hoping for better results. I was also getting 18/19 mpg. I found a trike dyno about 140 miles away and got it back today. (Urban Custom Bikes in Fife, WA)
    What they found were several contributing factors to poor performance; slightly bent and leaking intake seals in the throttle body, and in their opinion, too small of fuel injectors. They installed the 42# Siemens deka injectors and new seals, then dynoed. They said one cylinder was lean, and one was rich. The AFR at idle was 17.
    Yeah, I knew it was bad, and the before was just 72 hp & 76 tq.
    The after was 88 hp & 104 tq! If trikes do lose 15-20% compared to 2, that's a still pretty good number.
    I didn't have more than 10 miles on it before dark and cold, but what a difference! The graph shows the tq is about 90+ starting at 2,800 rpm, and 100+ from 3,000 - 4,400 rpm.
    Now I hope my mpg will increase too.
    Can't wait to get on it again during a nice day. Sure feels good to have that "right" - finally!
