Problem after Tour Pack Relocation

Got my Tour Box Lift and Relocate Rails on from Tglide Stuff and they fit and look great, only problem is now the wife complains that the Passenger Grab Rail is now rubbing her legs. Am I the only one that has a wife that has complained about this? I haven't seen anyone say they have had a problem like this before. I guess I could just remove the Passenger Grab Rail or try to bend it down a little. Any help will be appreciated.

My Babe on Back had the same issue. I was going to take them off, but after I installed the adjustable passenger foot rests from Kury, and she could re-position her legs when needed, it was no longer a problem. They make the ride back there soooo much more comfortable. If you install a pair of those, your B.O. B. will love you long time!

Raise the floorboard one hole?

On most of the trikes the rear boards are already raised up as far as they go. This is to cover any holes from view. But it sure is worth a look. You only have to take the top bolt out to adjust, the bottom is slotted with a shoulder bolt.
If you try to bend the bars, it most likely will brake the chrome. But it could be covered.
The Kuryakyn adjustable footrests #4353 are the best way to go !

My wife had the same problem. I already had the adjustable kuryakyn adjustable passenger footpegs but it was still a problem. I ended up getting the Kuryakyn Passenger Grab Rails which were a huge improvement. First the grips are much better that HD Stock and second it actually moved the grips lower and further away from the seat giving my wife much better access to the grips. Floorboard is in the top hole and I already have the Kuryakyn adjustable footrests. So to make her happy I guess I will have to try removing the grab rail for a while and see if she likes that.

The TG is about the only dresser left that has the grab rails..my 13 ultra doesn't have them, maybe because of this issue....
I would put a set on my ultra because the wife has her own trike....

I'm sure they put the grab rails on the TG because you don't lean on turns & it gives the rear seat something to hang on to. The driver has the handlebars.

I've been thumped on the back a time or two. Your correct in that it gives the passenger something to hang on to. If one rides slowly through twisties and never has to make emergency maneuvers they wouldn't be needed. But let someone pull out in front of you and you have to make some hard and quick turns, the passenger may not be back there once its over.

My wife won't get on a bike without them, I've ridden pretty much only touring so they have all had them except my 06 Ultra. Starting with the 06 MY touring HD removed the grab rails and installed a grab strap. In 06 they gave the owner the ability to move the tour-pak closer to the seat or move it back. If moved closer the grab rails hit the speakers on the Ultra Classic tour-pak. First thing I did was buy a grab rail and tweak it to fit, I only had to bend it slightly and it fits perfect.

The reason the wife like them is from experience gained from me having to stop real hard when someone turned left in front of me. I expected to feel her slam into my back which I figured may or may not cause me to loose control of the bike. When it was all over I was shocked she didn't slid forward and into me. She had seen the person turn and knew what I would do, she had a hold of the grab handles. She did say her butt came up off the seat a good inch.

This is the first time I have heard of this concern. I would think as already mentioned, move foot rest up.<o </o

Speaking with Marilyn, (she who must be obeyed) she found no interference with rails with tour box in any of the positions.<o </o

We have put about 5000 miles on our 2013 Triglide sense installing the tour pack relocation rails. Wife has no problems. I have lowered her floors boards all the way and she does not have any problems. And she would not ride without grab rails. The tour pack is set back halfway.

I was able to bend the Grab Rails down about a 1/2" without damaging the chrome. Now they do not bother her anymore so I will leave the Grab Rails on for now. See is really liking the extra room since we have moved the Tour Pack back.

had to swap for a standard mount from a detachable when we put the trike kit on. the whole setup moved the tour pack forward about 2 inches. caused a lot of problems. got my drill out and re-positioned everything. fine for now. adjustable foot boards helped a lot too . shes happy now.

Good deal ! I don't think a trike should be without the grab rails. It doesn't lean into a turn & the driver has the handlebars to hang onto. If the passenger doesn't have anything especially if the backrest is slid rearward. You are asking for some serious situations !! They can sneak up on ya, then it is too damm late !!

Looks like the new 2014 gives the passenger seat about 2" more room, and an inch wider.

to lose my rider at high speed would be horrable! to lose her at low speed and have to go back and pick her up would be worse.
