Thoughts on my new TG

Alright, I've had my TG for about a month now. Hesitated moving off my RK but it was either this or let a bum back end my riding days. I've done a few mods, added a little chrome and thought I'd share the good and bad.
Good:
Love cranking the tunes when I ride, very comfortable, lots of looks while on the road, the wife loves riding it too.
Bad:
Absolutely nothing. Glad I pulled the trigger!

Glad your loving the Triglide, the folks who mill around in the corner not wanting to take the plunge and step up to a Trike are missing out on some fun and comfortable riding.

The wife and I have owned our 2013 TG for about a month as well. We are really enjoying it and the three wheels have greatly reduced the safety concerns for the wife. It only took us about 4 years of "thinking about it" before we did it!

BE SURE YOU CHANGE OUT THE SYN 3 OIL FOR EITHER SPECTRO OR RED LINE'S MOTORCYCLE SHOCKPROOF GEAR LUBE. IT QUITENS THE SHIFTING, & ITS PINK IN COLOR, so if you ever have pink drops in the primary when you change it then you know you have a leak.
also i like their 20x60 motorcyle oil. its the only 20x60 syn oil that i can find.as you know the trike is hot, & i believe it needs the extra protection of this oil. i get mine on-line from HRPWORLD.COM.

I agree with changing the transmission oil, I've been happy with Shockproof for several years. The Triglide comes with HD360 dino oil in the oil bag and Formula+ in the primary and transmission. Only the CVO's come with Syn3 in all 3 holes.

Fun little story...

Guy in his late 40's came over to chat. He has a Touring Bike and wanted to talk clutch issues.

Since my TriGlide has the Barnett and Hayden, 480 spring and ClutchWIZ I asked him to ride the trike so he could feel the difference..

"Ohhhh, no. I've never ridden a trike"... as if it were going to jump up and bite him or someone he knows will see him riding a Trike.. :D:D

Long story short, I got him on the TG. He came back about 30 minutes later and it was only to be a 5 minute ride. (You know where this is going don't ya)

He comes back with a grin ear to ear. "Now, that's impressive". The clutch I ask?? "No, the trike". Got to get me one of these !! pepper

You never know til you know. :D:D

Yeah - it is kinda funny - I was the same way - couldn't "pull the pin" either. Finally decided it's now or never. Boy, sure wish I would've done it years ago. It's a whole new and great experience. I loved my RK but I'm lovin' the TG LOTS more!! It's a total BLAST to ride and I doubt I'll tip over ever again!! :Trike1:

Been riding my 2011 Tri Glide for 27 months and 21,000 miles now and love it. I will admit I was leery about getting a trike as I'd never ridden or owned one before. But I was 58 in 2011 with bad knees, back, and other things and knew as I get older that sooner or later my 900LB Electra Glide would start to be to heavy and I just couldn't see me sizing down to a smaller, lighter, less comfortable bike. The wife and I had talked about getting a Tri Glide since they came out in 09. Well one Saturday morning around the first of May 2011 the wife and I were having our morning coffee and out of now where she said lets go over to the Harley Dealer and look at the Trikes. So we did. All they had was an all black one and I just didn't want an all black bike. He got on his computer and said he had 3 more coming in. Another all black one, a Sedona Orange Street Glide one, and the Cool Blue and Black one. Well black was out and I didn't want a Street Glide model. He showed me a picture of the blue and black one on the computer and I did really like the color so he showed me a bike on the showroom floor the was the Cool Blue color so I could see what the blue looked like in person. Now I really liked the color. I asked how long of a wait to get the blue one. He said two weeks. The wife said lets do it. Two weeks later he called me and I went and picked up my 2011 Tri Glide May 16th 2011.

I got to stop reading this stuff...Please let there be a 2015 Road Glide Trike...My wife is pushing for the 14 Tri...told me no way on the Cross Country Tour...flat out told me our money was going on a Harley...I just smiled and said good Harley girl...for the time being staying on the 13 King...waiting on the new Road Glide...

I like to see how the new 2014 works out before jumping on a new trike..
I am hoping for better colors and more feedback on the new models coming out before jumping on a new bike..I do like the black cayen solid color..

Mr Wizard, thanks for the help on the ClutchWiz.

You actually let someone ride your TG - even without any training or demo video???? :) Boy are you trusting. :D

I let a friend try mine - big mistake. He almost crashed into the dealers pickup. You should have seen his face. Pure terror. :)

I volunteer at my dealer for the yearly demo rides. Every single test rider, and I mean every single one can not, either go in reverse or get out of the parking lot - absolute truth. I can't figure it out - it's not that hard (of course I've been triking for 2 years now) I had a little problem at first
attempting to go in reverse.

Everybody puts their feet down (no matter how many time you tell them)and that scares them when it doesn't lean over so they panic. One rider was so shaken we had to sit him down on the curb.

I know this all sounds preposterous, but I swear it all true. ThumbUp

I will never let someone "try it" on my TG ever again. ThumbUp :)

Besides I rode a trike (tricycle that is)when I was 3 years old so I still remember how.

e.

I agree, Not to start something here, But Trikes and Atv's attract a lot of Nimrod's, Who by all rights shouldn't even be driving a car let alone a Trike...

That's what I got last Monday. Love the color. Wife loves it, especially in sunlight.

Welcome to the world of the 3rd wheel. Wife got her trike after cancer treatments dulled the feelings in her feet, hands and legs. Got her a new one and in inherited her '09 after my second heart operation. Never looked back. We are on the tail end of a 3300 mile loop of the North-West Ride it like you stole it and enjoy every minute!

We have only had ours for a few days...(went from ultra and wifes st. glide) def. a diff. beast to drive..wife has more seating room (3in.more seating).the more I drive it, the more relaxed I am having with it.. was skept. about first year also..took out the 5 year warranty just in case. two of my buddies with ultra's took for a test ride..they liked it..one is trading his cvo for one real soon...
