September 2013 TOTM

Choosing the September TOTM was, as always a very tough decision because there are so many deserving trikes and trike owners, any of whom could and should be winner. This particular trike and its owner/builder was a standout in my mind for several reasons. One, the trike is based on a beautiful and pristine, classic 1989 Harley-Davidson Tour Glide, and two Paul did every step of the Champion conversion himself including the tear down, installation, rake install, paint, pin-striping and the fabrication of several needed custom one-off parts. Not that an owner-build is a major factor in selecting TOTM, but given his physical challenges, it is certainly worth recognizing Paul's efforts in creating this beautiful trike. I've gotten to know Paul and I will tell you he is one determined individual and lets NOTHING stand in the way of accomplishing his goals, and for that, he is a true inspiration. Congratulations pcombe from Casper, Wyoming!

Very nice looking trike. Last time I had fringes like that off handlebars, they would whip into my arm leaving marks. That was one way to stay alert.

Wow, I'm blown away zook!

I never thought i would see my wolf in sheeps clothing as the trike of the month.

I have put nearly 8,000 miles on it since i completed it in may and have enjoyed every moment of it.

I wanted to say thank you to the members of this forum (you all know who you are) for your advice and encouragement during the build process. You helped me more than you know.
A thanks to you also Zook for obtaining the parts for me at such a tremendous savings and acting as a go between for any problems i might have had.

You did one heck of a job, IMO your a craftsman who can work his way through the all mechanical road blocks a build puts before you and put out a fine looking finished prodouct. I enjoyed watching your build through your comments and pictures.
