2014 Trike is Puke’in
Just picked up my 2014 Tri-Glide a couple of weeks ago and love it!! Only have 300 miles on it and one of the issues I am having is after the last couple of rides, it pukes anti-freeze once I turn it off! Not just a little, but quite a puddle under the trike. Happened again last night after about a 20 mile ride on a cool evening (low 60’s). Checked the overflow tank and it was empty this morning. Has anyone else seen this?

My only guess would be that maybe had air trapped in cooling system and we know when air gets hot it expands. I would top off and be making a phone call to your dealer

take it to the dealer and let them fiqure it out these are new bikes and should not be doing that

Your the first Tg I've heard having this happen. But over on the HD Forum in the touring section there is some threads going on about this exact problem with the new water cooled heads on the 2- wheelers.Originally Posted by Jim Gee

I'm not sure that an exact cause has been determined yet but with the number of others having this happen to them I would imagine the dealers are starting to become aware of this & I'm sure HD will have a fix for this soon if they haven't already. Take it back to the dealer & if necessary ask them to check with HD technical support because I'm sure they're aware of this. Please keep us informed on how this all turns out.

I've been reading the same stuff, looks like the water head has some teething problems HD needs to work out. What always strikes me odd is how they don't catch stuff like this during their testing, got to believe their test bikes and trikes tossed their cookies a few times.

We picked it up at the Hannigan factory last Friday. It is really gorgeous. He said he might even let me ride it if I say PRETTY PLEASE.

I don't wanna be negative,,,but...as I said earlier in posts about the 2014's...Ya gotta wait a coupla years when they come out with something new so they can get SOME of the bugs fixed. I love HD and would not have anything else, but they cant seem to get the most simple things right, let alone a two radiator liquid cooling device. They should have had Porsche help them design it like the V-Rod.

I have 2000 miles on my 014 Triglide and have not had the problem you describe. I would agree with others that recommend you get it to the Dealers ASAP.

Agreed with getting back to dealer.
Possible problems: FI program not good enough could cause overheating issues; pinched vent lines or radiator cap issue. Just to name a few that the Honda water cooled engines experienced over the years.

Harley gave a guy his money back on an Ultra Limited on the HD Forum. Same symptoms. Dealer kept the bike two weeks, gave it back to him, same problem, bike pukin after turned off. Harley bought it back.... they DO know about the problem.

When you top it off to take it in. Might want to go thru the procedure of running the pump to circulate coolant thru the whole system before start up..

It's a hose clamp issue from what I hear. They will put the correct clamp on if you go back to the dealer.

It is not a hose clamp issue. The problem appears to be the sytem is experiencing an overpressure situation during heat soak after shut down. Temps go up, pressure goes up, radiator cap vents into reservoir forcing all the coolant out the reservoir vent hose and on the ground. Suspect a design flaw in the radiator neck assembly on production versions or inadequate rating/seal on radiator cap.

My rule is never buy the 1st year of a new design , and for 2014 HD is much changed , as another said theething pains must be delt with.
