Flickering "S" Sidestand Light during Riding

I'm a newbie to the trike world, just bought a 2007 Goldwing Level 4 with Champion Kit from a guy in Ohio. Drove it back to Minnesota this weekend with the wife - our 1st 800 miles logged. During the ride back the "S" Sidestand light would sometimes flicker intermittenly "yellow mostly and sometimed redish". Did not notice any performance issues associated with the light, nor could I find any loose wires. Has anyone every seen this before?

FYI - It was converted by JJ Trikes & Things in Ohio - Nice looking unit!

Also, the Trike has 4.5 Degree EZ Steer, but for my taste it still steers very hard taking corners at speed (very interesting in Chicago traffic). Possible it's not set up right, any ideas. How do I confirm it was actually installed on the trike? I've been a 2 wheel guy my whole life, maybe this is normal?

Howdy Tony -- Nice handle!!!

The sidestand down indicator should not come on. I suspect the switch that was once connected to you sidestand has rotated slightly. When the bike was converted you installer probably put a cable tie through the switch and tied it to the main bundle. Pull the left side cover off and I bet you'll find the switch hanging there. Play with it a bit to determine the center of the "UP" position and then secure it somehow.

The easy way to tell if you do have a rake kit installed it to look and see if the triple tree is aluminum or painted black. The OEM is black - all the rake kits I've ever seen are aluminum. 4.5 degrees should be enough for most situations. You might need to practice a bit more. Shifting your weight to keep centered helps a lot.

Mine is now tied in with the emergency brake lever. I used to use it and always forgot to release it before I took off. The "S" light is on when my brake lever is pulled up. I have a Lehman conversion.
