CB on 2014 TG

Had CB installed before picked up the trike. Trike is pre-wired for the CB however mine was the first they did and it did not come with an antenna. After a heated conversation with the dealer they contacted Harley. They forgot to include the antenna. Dealer finally has the parts to install it. Think the delay in getting parts is my dealer more than anything else. If the Trike has the PTT switch it should be a plug and play install there is a bracket to hold the module that has to be installed on top of the radio. Cost was $325 for the module they gave me 10% off that and charged a flat rate to install accessories that are installed before delivery.

Do all of the 2014 TG's come "pre-wired" for the CB ?
Part of that question also is, Do all 2014 TG's come with the PTT switch? Or is it some do and some do not.
Bottom line, it would just be installing the CB module and an antenna...

$33,000 For a new 2014 Tri Glide and they gave you 10% discount with flat rate labor. Wow, they were nice to you. My dealer will install any Harley accessories purchased at the time one buys the bike for no labor charge at all.
When I bought my 2008 Electra Glide Standard it did come with a radio. I bought the radio at the same time I bought the bike. They installed it with no labor charge.
When I bought my 2011 Tri Glide I also got a few extras at the time I bought the Tri Glide. They were installed with no labor charge also.
My son just bought a 2013 Roadglide and bought some Harley accessories at the same time. Installed with no labor charge.
But then again the CB is something I would never use so they could give to me for free and I wouldn't use it, LOL.

My dealer is offering 10% off parts at time of delivery and full labor charges to install... $85 per hour:
3 hours for the 3M fender protection
1 hour for tour pack luggage rack
1 hour for bumper
And so on....

Paid $150 labor to install mufflers, trailer hitch, harness, XM,CB module's, hand grips, luggage rack. Got 10% off every thing but hitch and harness I supplied those.
Last bike I bought all labor for accessories was free, half off extended warranty and labor on first service was free. Not so anymore.

Very easy install, took less than 30 minuets. Make sure the dealer adds the antenna. My dealer had to call HD to find out about the antenna, then said it was included but forgot to order it.

I have a hard time with Harley not including the CB like they had been in the past for what they charge for a Triglide, folks should be putting some heat on them.

MSOCKO3,I just had this discusion a few days ago with the dealer i do buisiness with.He told me when i got ready to trade or buy that he would take care of me!!Hmm,wonder how much pain will be involved with that! In all honesty he does treat me better then the other dealers around here.I've also found that if you don't ask,they won't offer,& sometimes if asked they will.

$26K trade in for stock 2012 TG or $28500 for mine as is with $10K of add-ons including $3500 in wheels alone. 20% off new add-ons and full labor.
The 20% is our normal chapter discount.
Salesman called me yesterday at work all excited and wanted to know if I was going to come in and do the deal because it was the end of the month and he wanted the sale added to his column. Told him no - we were still too far apart on the price. Hung up on me before I got the last words out.

Garyd.Iwas at a h-d dealer a couple weeks ago that i,ve never bought a new bike from.Iasked what my 11 trike would be worth on a trade.He told me around 30,with or with out add ons.He told me to take off whatever i wanted to keep.He also said they would change out my wheels for me(i have chrome)for aprox. 100.I told him i wasn't buying anything now,i was just curious on how they would handle the add ons i have.After the winter & i see how these new trikes are i'll head out & see what actually gets put down on paper.I have 5 dealers within 50 miles of me,they might make better offers because of the competition.

BEAN COUNTERS !! They are afraid of giving you too much for your dollar ! Besides make some more on the accessories !!

I agree with that!!!
and, put that oil cooler back on. There is a perfect spot to mount an oil cooler just above the old spot where the water stuff now goes. VICTORY has a great oil cooler mounted in the 'V' of their down tubes on cruisers. HD could do something similar.

BTW, while looking at a 14 model new radio I asked what it cost for a CB added? The sales guy told me $795!!!!
Glad I wasn't drinking coffee at the time!

Went to order the manuals for my 5 month old trike. My 15% discount for a year disappeared already. Plus the price was also a bit higher. $150 now, as opposed to $118 before 15% off was applied that I was quoted a couple months ago. I guess I am marking another dealer that I have bought a bike from off my list to ever enter again. I keep forgetting their attitude is that they are doing me a favor by selling to me. Glad I went ahead and ordered my V&H header, TTS tuner, & SE breather before they rescinded my discount. Even though it is on my purchase agreement, it isn't worth going to a dealer that treats it's customers this way. Just ranting.

Wow!! The story of some crappy dealers. All I know when I go to buy I will know everything I want on my trike, living here in Northern California I have many dealers to work on. You right, some act like their doing you a favor and some not so much.

When I got the trike there was no PTT switch (they said they didn't even notice it wasn't there). Rear speakers did not work and the CB channels did not show on screen. After a "reflash" the speakers worked and the CB screen showed up, but bike is back at the dealer (would not crank when they delivered it) because the battery had a dead cell and now they are waiting on the PTT switch.

What are they going to charge to install/wire the PTT switch?
If the CB is only a reflash why was there a $140 labor charge? That is almost two hours?
I don't understand why HD just doesn't 'install' the CB on new models for folks who want/need it? I thought that was nice to have, especially if in a group. Not everyone has the latest electronics to hookup.

They had to install (add) the CB module. After the CB was added they had to "reflash" the 6.5 system to make the CB work... and for some reason it also made the rear speakers start working again.
