First-time snow birds this year! We are in Florida, and you bet we brought the bike and trike with us.... that's the whole point of it for us .
My wife and I started snow birding in 2001. 1st with a 36 ft motorhome and pulling a trailer with the Harley in it. Then we rented condo's for a couple of yrs down there. Then last yr we bought a Resort home in Surprise, AZ. Fits our needs perfectly. This year were shipping the Harley down there to have even more fun pepper. So where do you spend your winter's ? And do you take your bike with you ? Rick & Carmen

No matter the storm, when you are with God, there is always a rainbow waiting.

Have been doing the snow bird thing for 5 years and love it.
We will be taking Yamaha Venture/Hannigan with us for first time in about 30 days, can't wait for some day trips out of home base of Cape Canaveral.
Will also be looking for 1800 goldwing with Hannigan kit. Hard to ride something other than a goldwing and We just love the looks and ride of the Hannigan.
Hopeing to swap and pay some difference with someone that will love my black 1300 venture
We're "snow-birds-in waiting". I had to retire ahead of my bride because of my knees (too many miles on them at the fire dept). We have a few more years to go before we look for sun, instead of snow, for the winter. All in good time. Hope to spend time in Az. or Fl. Can't wait!
My wife & I grew up in southern, Mi. But moved to Minn . Because that's where our 3 out of kids moved too. Because of work or school. But most of my Mi friends go to Fla for the winter months. My wife's family moved to Az for health reasons and jobs. So we spend our winter's in Arizona. ...Anybody ever make it out to AZ for the winter. Look us up. We'll be glad to meet up with anyone for a ride
What part of southern Michigan are you from? East China is on the St. Clair River between Marine City and St. Clair Mi.
Don't know if you've been watching but the former mayor of Detroit was given 28 YEARS for public corruption yesterday!
He raped the city and was part of big time pay to play schemes through out the city with his buddy Bobby Ferguson. Bobby gets his today!
We have visited the Mesa area and kinda liked that. Also have friends in Casa Grande that we've visited with also.
My Batallion Chief retired to Prescott Valley, can't forget about him!
I hear that's nice country up there!

If you are asking me (tbear). I live in Monroe County. Just 20 minutes south of the Metro Airport along I-275. Out in the country. Like to go west of state and north when riding in Mich. Ohio to Indiana is another area to ride to.
We go to Florida after x-mas to stay close to our other Daughter that lives in Brooksville,Fl.
We are thinking of renting in Wachee Wache next year. I can go fish and ride and that my friends is heaven for me.
We are in Florida January through April ( have to wait till trapping and hunting season is over ) and always take the trike.
Kudo's to all you guys. I couldn't do it. I like my 4 seasons and love snow.
I tried the "Living in Paradise" for 5 years in Temple, Tx. = NOT FOR ME!!
I have a ball driving in the snow - unfortunately there are other people driving at the same time - that part I DON'T like.
The one thing that would make me real happy? = All the people that don't like driving in the snow would move down south = makes it safer for us up north.
My good wife Anita and I started wintering in an RV Park on the ocean near Puerto Vallarta, MX in 2001 and have completely enjoyed our travels throughout MX and the US in our fifth wheel. In 2009 I came down with some eye health issues and spent the winter in Yuma; ultimately deciding I wanted to be closer to my Phoenix based Opthalmologist, so we gave up RVing and bought a home in Maricopa, AZ.
At the end of the month, we'll be towing the trike there and spending our fourth winter. We love the area and enjoy being able to ride all winter. In March we plan to ride over to Houston and visit our son and his family - adding another enjoyable component to our retirement.
Yes, being a Snowbird is a good thing. All you Snowbirds, have a great winter and ride safely.
YES Prescott Valley is a VERY nice area. We go up there once in a while. It's a nice ride up there on the Bikes. The RV park we stay at has a lot of riders of all brands. When I retired from G.M. I worked part time at Motown Harley-Davidson for almost a year. But it was time to head for Az. So I had to quit. Now it's called Biker Bob's in Taylor, Mi
Since we already live in Arizona, we hope to become Summer Birds. Leaving in mid to late June through mid September.
We have had nice trips north during the summers of 2010 and 2012. But vacation doesn't last long enough.
First week of July this year, my wife and I bought a house in a retirement community a bit south of Tampa Fl. November we'll be going for 2 week vacation. After full retirement by 2015 this may become our full time residence. Attached are pics of the front and back yard, (5th hole of the golf course.)
2 baths, 2 bedroms, living room, den, kitchen, dinning room, patio. Gated communtiy with 2 pools, 2 recreation centers, one of which has a resturant, movie theater, tennis courts, marina along the Manatee river which goes to Tampa Bay then to the gulf.
We bought this home fully furnished, utilizing some of my retirement money. The price I will share, I guess in private if anyone is interested. It is a "Solstice" home. They are all over the nation and the community we selected is called "Riverside Club".

HEY Vince: That's a nice place you have there. But a 5 hole Golf Course . So you have to play it 3 times lol.
This will be our third winter in The Villages, FL.
First year I trailered the TriGlide down but I later sold it and went to a Victory Cross Country Tour/CSC trike (which I absolutely love). Hauled that down last winter and will do the same this year.
If you're near that area, let's ride!

Yep someday when all of the wrinkles in our busy lives 'iron out' we'll probably do the snow-bird thing. All in good time. Last time we were in Az. my wife didn't drive a bike. She (and I) look back at what we saw (e.g. Superstition Mountains) and say to ourselves, boy, can't wait to ride out there!
OK all you Snowbirds--If you are in Florida in the end of Jan, be sure to check the Rides & Rallies section as you might just want to join several of us in Daytona Beach, Fl for 3-4 days/nights of fun. I know that some of you are already signed up but more is better !!
