exhaust pipes

I plan to cut the converter out of my pipes as soon as the warranty runs out.
I have read the posts on here on how to do it and I fell I can do the job as I
know how to weld BUT, I read on here that the pipes are stainless steel. my
pipes hold to a magnet I thought a magnet wouldn't stick to stainless? I don't have access to a welder of stainless steel. Has anyone just used a regular mig welder used for mild steel and did it work O.K?:Shrug:

The stock pipes aren't stainless. That's why your magnet will stick to it but you also know a magnet will stick to cheap stainless as well.

They are junk Asian steel and when you weld on it you will find it will pop and create huge pits as the metal is not pure at all. Use your arc, flux or mig welder on it, watch for blow back and pitting and you'll be fine.

That's cool the way you did that. True duals now. You must have an 09? If not, where did you put the 02 sensors?
