4 way flahers and turn signals not working

I have changed out the relay but after that only thing worked was the turn signals came on steady but did not flash. 4 ways did not work at all.

Anyone have this issue before? What was the fix?

Have you checked the fuses? According to the owners manual there is also fuse #17 that operates the turn signals and flashers, #20 also works them. When you changed the relay, did the lights immediately come on, or only when you tried to operate the signals or 4 way?

There is an electronic flasher for these. If I remember correctly it is under the hood on the right side near the dash. You might have to get a new one first in order to see what it looks like. I changed mine over a year ago so my recollection is fussy.

After changing the relay, I turned on the key but only got a steady on light when activating the turn signal. Same for the right side. Tried the 4 ways but nothing worked for them.

I had checked the fuses before replacing the relay. The relay is located near the dash and next to the diagnostic port.

Just another point. The electronic flasher controls both the turn and 4 way. I really think that is your problem.

Hate to say it, but anything else is gonna require some tracing of wires and checking connections etc. I'd recommend getting (or borrowing) a ford ranger wiring diagrams book (this is what TB uses for that kinda stuff I was told). According to what I was told, that part of the system is essentially straight out of the ford "playbook". Were there any signs of water damage to the old relay? Or signs of water getting into the fuse box under the seat? I know that can cause havoc when trying to find problems. I'd say try calling TB, but with something like that, I'm not sure how much help they could be over the phone.

I had a car do this and I squrited WD40 on the flasher switch and worked the switch several times. What happened was the switch got corrision on the contacts not being used. You might try this, it worked for me.

Hi I just want to make sure you have the correct part for the flasher. The first picture is the flasher. I put it in a plastic baggy to keep it dry after I replaced it. The second picture shows where I located it on the Stallion. Just above the trans dip stick. It is sticking out of a harness there.

If you turn on your turn signals and you get a steady light with no flash, check all of your turn signal lights. If a light is out, they will stay on steady and not flash. First of all, check ALL of your bulbs

By the way...the FORD manual for wiring only works to a certain VIN number. After a certain VIN, the wiring harness changed to a custom style. I am in the process of trying to get the EXACT VIN number for the first custom harness.

Yep that is the one. Ford Blue relay flasher. I went to O'Reillys and got a replacement.

When I went to remove the Ford relay flasher unit the damn thing had silicone adhesive on the inside of the plug. It was a real pain in the butt to get it off. I even went so far as to mention it to Richard at TBMS and it went right by him. Don't think it registered what I had said.

Since I am having so many issues show up I have made an appt to go to the TBMS factory. At least it will be checked out right. Since they are the ones who built it.

Knowing the factory give yourself a lot of time. They will go thru it and do all the upgrades and fix all. They worked on ours for the best part of a whole day. It was really worth it. Gets the job done right. Good luck. Try and meet Jeff and Diane (owners) GREAT people.

Hi ALL,
Just got back from the Stallion Factory late this morning and here is what they found and fixed for me:

1. 4 way flashers and turn signals - The relay that I had bought from O'Reillys was the wrong one - thanks to the incomponent staff there. Never trust a woman to give you the right part. LOL

2. Cruise not working - Servo module was bad - replaced and fixed

3. Other items inspected and upgraded.

TBMS factory and staff are fantastic and super friendly. Met Dennis/ service write and mechanic. Thanks a ton!

I wholeheartedly agree that if you are having issues and need to know how to fix some issues your self, contact Richard He is super knowledgeable and will help you any way he can.

I highly recommend buying a wiring diaphgram manual from Ford Motor Company and save yourself time and trouble issues. Bought mine for $45 on-line and it will be a special part of my future trouble shooting.

If you ever get the chance to tour the facility, check out the purple Stallion in the show room. I really liked it!
