First trike. Have a 2012 monarch II on a 2010 GL1800. So far love it. Have put about 4k on it so far. Would like Leman's help in two areas. First I am unable to join up for the update paper. Also how can I get a service manual for my trike?

This is my first trike and I love my Tramp. Still learning to ride it but so far it's a definitely keeper and I love it (did I already say that lol?)! It does everything I ask of it and the ride is awesome. Does have some head shake at low speeds but nothing I can't get use to. The size is perfect for me and what I want from it. Just a day tripper but I'm sure it will be fine if I go further too. I'm amazed at the trike and I tend to stare at the beauty of it. I'm proud to own it and everyone who sees it is curious and also amazed. I am hoping to meet some of the Lehman people in a couple of weeks at my dealer's appreciation party. Lehman will be there.

When I first laid eyes on our '97 GL1500 in early 1997 it was a two wheeler and a new GWRRA Chapter was holding a mall show and wife and I rode our '85 GL1200A up to take a look at these folks. Met the charter members and "OoooHed and Aaaaahhed" over the bikes, started going to chapter meetings. Loved this '97 Candy Spectra Red bike .... and grew to really like the couple who owned it. Then, over winter of '97-98, the "he" half went to Trike School somewhere in Canada and came back later and by late Spring, 1998 .... he had triked their '97 .... using a Lehman GTL kit. First time I saw it I was hooked, I loved the looks of this trike.

Over next few years we got to ride with them and the rest of the group, some on their new MT or CSC trikes, but that lone Lehman GTL was easily the sharpest looking trike I'd seen. I've positioned our bike in a group ride just to be near behind it I was so infatuated.

Then came a day in Summer 2004 and it was offered for sale .....

    with matching trailer.

We jumped on the offer, no dickering. I've added tweeks, made slight mods, made one big mod when I installed a 6 degree EZSteer a few weeks after purchase .... and I still think it's the sharpest looking trike. We love it's looks and I love the durable solid axle "no lean" rear suspension for it's toughness and flat cornering .... and now it's like family almost (well, as much as an inanimate object can be?).

Hiya all... Stangas here from Western Australia.

My trike is a 2011 Road King with the Lehmann Renegade TTS.

This bike has a bit of a sad story, but never the less made it mean all the more to my wife and I.

My dad, at the age of only 57 bought the Harley brand new and got the conversion done only 12 months later after heaps of research. He has been a bike rider all his life and had many bikes in his shed, ranging from BMW's, triumphs, yamaha's and Suzuki's. So this was his first Harley ever and first trike. He definitely did not convert it due to age, fear or injury. He did it because he loved the look, and mainly to encourage my mother to get on the back for the long tours.

Sadly, in March last year he unexpectedly passed away from the old 'jack the dancer' only months before his retirement at the age of 59. This was saddened even more due to the knowledge of his extended plans of touring with mum in August. He had the V8 landcruiser, the caravan ready, his trike and his 2 wheelers.

After the mourning had passed, my brothers, sister and I went into dads shed to start to work out what we were to do. Long story short, I purchased dads trike from mum to ensure it stayed in the family.

So now I am riding this bike almost every day, which is exactly what dad would have wanted. Every time I climb onto it, a tear wells in memory. This soon passes when we are belting down the highway which quickly reminds me what my dad was all about..

He loved living life and got the absolute most he could out of his time..

Enough to make most people envious.

Well enough of the sad stuff..

    Trikes bloody ROCK!

I am only 38yrs old and have ridden bikes all my life, but never a 3 wheeler.. It is great. A little weird initially, but once I learnt how this bike operates it is awesome.. My 11yr old boy loves it so much.. and what a head turner (even if it is the oldies looking.. LOL)

I do have a few issues with high speed cornering (120kph) with some front wheel skip and feels like the back end is driving the front wheel into the road. The bike has the raked front end already, but does not have a steering damper. I think once I get the hang of it, I will learn to ride it out.

The low speed head shake is interesting if your not expecting it, and I have learned not to show off with the no hands on the bars..

    LOL

The stock Harley gearing is horrendous and I have the bike booked in to change the engine primary gear to a 32T sprocket from a 34T. This should give me the bottom end that is badly missing.

I didn't like the original Harley storage box on the back of the Lehmann body, it just felt like it was going to break off when there was no one on the back.

When I got the bike above 100kph it would shake rather violently. This I have since removed and got to say I much prefer the look of it not there. I am now in the process of installing a sissy bar for the missus and just a simple luggage rack for a swag.

I have to say that Lehmann have done an amazing job with these kits and I congratulate them and would not hesitate in recommending anyone buying their stuff.. Parts are hard to get due to being in Australia, but well worth it... It also cost heaps more than what is advertised in USA to convert.. This bike cost dad almost $60k by the time he finished the project.

    So RIP Jim

    Default best of both worlds

In 2014 went camping / biking in SD the campground was only 1/2 mile from the Lehman factory. so we rode around SD on two them left the bike and had them convert it. But is being a 1995 Road King their kit would not work so the went to their Sister company Champion and used their kit. The trike look super and rides even better so as far as i am concerned both are super companies. The kit is well made and the matching of the paint was beyond good. I love every aspect the the trike.

Had a Lehman conversion on a 06' Harley 1200 about 4-6 years back. Nice solid ride. Was a solid axle model that I only had for a short time.

Enjoyed the ride while I had it

OK, I gotta confess , I have been a Lehman Dealer since 1998.

Until their consumption by Champion, I had built well over 300 conversions of mainly GL1800 Monarch II's and FLH-FLT Harley Renegades. I guess I am prejudiced when it comes to Lehman conversions.

There are a lot of GREAT conversions on the market today but the mid 1980's Lehman's are still on the road and operating.

I just bought a used kit from a Trike-Talk member last month to put on my own motorcycle. My last motorcycle. The kit was for a Softail and manufactured in the early 1990's and I have upgraded a few things.

The simple basic design is used by Harley-Davidson and durability is still present today in the thousands of Lehman's that are on the road. The initial design which dates back to the early 1980's was made of over-the-counter auto parts that have been discontinued some 35 years later.

Some parts can be found and I try to keep wear and tear items available for those that love their Lehman's.

This build should last me through my days and will pass down the family for others to enjoy later. But for now, Here it is !!

    Default My 1999 1500 GoldWing/Lehman Triike

In 2011, my then 73 yr old friend, a retired Spec Forces member, had his trike painted red, white and blue and I immediately fell in love with her! I bought her from my very patriotic friend and named her "Gorgeous". I knew nothing about motorcycles at the time but I was determined to learn how to ride her. I fell in love with the beautiful curves that Lehman gave her and she turns heads wherever we travel. She handles so smooth and I can't believe I was so lucky! I am now 70 yrs old and she continues to get many, many comments! I just love my Gorgeous and we'll just keep on keeping on!!!

I never owned any other brand of trike. I bought a 2003 Suzuki Volusia with a Lehman Romani kit on it. I loved the look of the trike and it was a real solid build. I enjoyed every mile that we put on it before health issues forced me to sell it. I would definitely recommend Lehman trikes to anyone in the future.

    Default Lehman Jackal

I have a 2008 Jackal. Bought new and have ridden on numerous trips and has never given any trouble. The only work ever done has been just normal service. Love the trike.

I have a 2003 Honda with a Lehman kit on it. I have had it since 2008 and have 78,000 miles on it. I really like the very large trunk that the Lehman has, It will hold everything I want to put in it with ease.

Have owned 3 1500 wings trikes to Lehman. 2000 , 1998 , and currently have a 2000 Lehman. Very stable and love the lines and the weight bearing aqua boards. Never any issues other than replacing rear u-joint at a RV park in Spokane Wa. That’s a story for another time. General maintenance is the key to care free triking. 😁

    Default Love my trike

I was 62 and felt that I was getting less confident on 2 wheels. My husband bought a trike and I had to ride it home as he didn’t have his motorcycle endorsement. I fell in love with it. So I started looking to trading my sporty for a trike. I found a HD ultra with a Lehman kit on it. I love the way it rides and handles. I have a light bar type rear bumper which make me very visible at night. I would recommend a Lehman kit to convert a 2 wheel motorcycle.

    Default Love the unique trike

I have to say that I could not pass this thing up when I found it a number of years ago. It is a 1993 Sportster hugger that had been opened up with a 1200 Screaming Eagle kit and had an early Lehman conversion...all the paperwork and assembly manual was from when Lehman was still supplying from Alberta Canada. Being a rider of two wheelers it certainly does take some getting used to, but after a few miles it becomes quite comfortable. I do like the looks of the bodywork, and I was very impressed with the Lehman company when I had to change the drivebelt and they sent me a schematic of the entire rear differential...so even though the conversion was done years ago the company still had what I needed at their fingertips and was extremely helpful. Kudos to Lehman.

Tried multiple times to upload a picture but couldn't. Tried both the insert image and attachment route. It would seem the site isn't as dependable and as well engineered as a Lehman!
