Question What do you like about your Lehman Trike?

OK Lehman Trike owners, here's your chance to brag on your Lehman Trike and tell current and future trike owners why they should buy a Lehman Trike or Trike Conversion. Topics of interest will be ride, handling, features, benefits, design, fitment, service, price, styling, etc. There will be NO FLAMING or complaining in this thread towards any dealer or the manufacturer as there are other places for that.

This thread will be based on your positive experiences and why you bought a Lehman and why you recommend Lehman to others. Please state the make and model of your bike and the make and model of your Lehman Conversion along with how long you have owned it and how many Lehman Trikes you have owned total.

And please post a picture too so we can see how awesome your trike is!

I bought my trike already set up with a Lehman kit. I have not ridden any other brand. So I can't really compare. But having said that I do like the quality of the unit. I have ridden it to Washington D.C. twice and have not had any problems related to the Lehman unit. Some folks like IRS that some kits come with but mine is fine without it. Good quality and fit.

I must first admit to the fact that my 2008 Dyna Renegade conversion is my first trike. That being said, I like the feel and ride of this machine. It handles well and has done everything I have ask of it. The kit seems to be very well designed and I am please.
My ride is a 2008 Harley FXD with Lehman conversion dubbed "Trilogy".

My Lehman is my first trike conversion so I'm not able to give a good comparison to others. But I will chime in anyway. I had a Spyder which broke down on a trip and left me seriously stranded. Even though it was under warranty I knew I could never trust it again, so I worked out a trade with my dealer on a 2013 GW with a solid axle Lehman conversion. I had briefly ridden a CSC, and while the huge trunk would have been nice, my wife and I don't like the look of that big a$$ end. So the Lehman appealed to us, smaller footprint, no "running boards", and a beautiful paint combination of gray and silver. We would have preferred the LLS system, but he only had this one, so we made the trade. The solid axle can be very rough on a bumpy road, but it is great on a normal road. It also has fewer moving parts so it might be more reliable, which is important to us.

So far (about 10K miles in 7 months) we love our Lehman.

They haven't been great about answering email, but when I call I always get great service.

If something happened to my trike and I had to buy another, Lehman would be my first choice.

    Mike

Cool Re: What do you like about your Lehman Trike?

This being my first Trike.....I can only compare to a bike My 1999/1500cc Gold Wing Trike had a Lehman Trike conversion kit on it when I bought it. It's beautiful..... pearl white with light silver trim. I've had many compliments and especially concerning the back lights....being so many The ride is so smooth....I'm still getting use to the 6" rake and learning how to handle on curves. I've had many riders on the back and they say it's like riding on air. The trunk area is wonderfully large and can be easily seen. Since I know so little about comparing....all I can say is that I LOVE IT.... everyone that sees it.... checks it out telling me how great my Maximus(that's his name) looks.pepper

My first trike was an 08 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic with a Lehman kit. I put over 46,000 miles on that trike and loved everyone of them. I could out corner any of the touring type two wheeled bikes and being it wasn't raked, it would turn from one center of the lane to the other center of the lane. The biggest reason that I traded of that trike was that it didn't have reverse and my legs got to where I was unable to back it into my garage. I traded it on a 2011 Harley Davidson Triglide which is still very close to the Lehman Trike Kit. My eleven has a raked front end, reverse, and the 103 motor. I really like my new trike also and have 42,000 miles on it. I will say the raked front end steers easier and the 103 engine and better gearing that Harley did, makes this trike outstanding to ride. I would recommend a Lehman kit to anyone that was looking to kit their trike. I believe Champion has bought out Lehman but continues to put out kits under the Lehman name.

I never had any problems with my Lehman kit.

Due to health issues and issues with the Suzuki charging system, I have only ridden it less than 2000 miles since purchasing it. With this limited experience, I would tout the tight turning radius, design, and storage space of the Jackal. I have also had reasonable response when asking Lehman for technical assistance when doing my own mods.

I love my Victory Vision converted to a Crossbow by Lehman trikes. Heads turn where ever we go and I receive many compliments on the conversion. Customer service is excellent at Lehman. I would strongly recommend Lehman conversions to those who are wanting a quality product.
    Sincerely, Crossbow

We love the trunk cover that goes up which allows full access to the large trunk. As the driver I love the no lean in the corners also. It is well built and the fit is very good. Our Goldwing is just right for the two of us.

    EVERYTHING !!
Our 2008 Gold Wing was triked brand new with the Lehman Monarch II kit.
It is a solid axle and it rides and handles great.
We are the 2nd owner but it only had 2317 miles when we bought it.
For sure we like the trunk lid that comes straight up.
Have not had any negative issues with it.
This was our first trike - we love it.

Our 2nd trike is a 2008 Gold Wing Motor Trike Adventure kit, independent rear suspension.
We are the 2nd owner of this one also.
We really can't tell a pinch of difference between the two in ride or handling.

I have a 2003 Suzuki Volusa 800 that has the Lehman Romani trike conversion. I bought it that way from a private owner. It is my first trike I ever owned. Love the ride but wish it had a trunk on it. Whenever I park it at a public place, it makes me feel good when I come back out and find several people circling it, looking at it. It draws alot of attention.

I have a Jackal coversion on a 2008 Suzuki C90 Boulevard. I bought it new off the showroom floor already set up. This was my first Trike. I love the room in the trunk, the handling and the ride. I have had it for three years and have had absolutely no problems. A friend I ride with has a newer more expensive Goldwing with a different conversion and he has offered to trade even, his for mine. He likes the way it handles better than his. I have ridden a couple of dofferent trikes and I just like mine better. I'll not be trading it...I'm going to ride it until I am too old to ride anymore...

I'm the same way. Will be 67 in February and love riding mine. I ride with the Battlefields Legion Riders in Highland Springs VA and there is a Harley Trike in the group that rides with us. I notice that his makes to much noise for me. Ride safe and thank you for your service.

This is my first trike that I have owned. I still own my 1985 GL1200A which I have owned for 7 years. I now have a 1997 White Glacier Pearl GL1500 that was triked when it was new in Western Canada. I'm the third owner, buying this bike about 6 months ago from the second owner here in Ontario. It has a solid axle which does make for a ruff ride on some of the pot hole roads we have here (not a big deal for me) and a minor issue with a slight shimmy/vibration on the front wheel. I have purchased a Bridgestone BT45 as suggested else where on this website to cure this issue. I must admit I did not have the opportunity to ride the bike as much as I would have like to this past summer and fall so I can not say much more about the bike or my experiences.

Weather permitting, its going to get a workout starting in a week as I'm departing for Lakeland Florida right after Christmas trailering the bike behind my Motor Home and will be their until the middle of April. Since the bike will be my wheels for getting around on, I will be able to post my experiences with the bike when I return home in April.

Being a kinda rookie at the trike thing ( 1Yr) I'm ridin a used 05 Ultra Classic/Lehman. Had to go from 2 wheelin to 3 because of spine issues so here goes. I had some issues about the ride until I learned where to check or fill the air suspension and to let some air out of the tires so I now have a decent ride until I hit bumps, or holes in the road and then its rough. I have no problems on Xways as the bike has plenty of pep so I can keep up with the 2 wheelers even when they get up around 80+. Crazy about the light setup on the rear of the Renegade as I don't think you can have enough lights on the rear of a bike. Over all I like "Trikin" and feel lucky that at age 76 I can still have the wind in my nose so we'll have to see how it goes from here, heading for Florida for 4 months and takin trike with so only time will tell !

Harley Davidson thought it was a GOOD kit to have. They started using the Lehman kit when they decided to start building Trikes at their factory. I believe that they still use the same kit on all of their Triglides. correct me if I am wrong on this.

My new-to-me 2005 Suzuki C50 with Lehman Tramp kit is my first trike...It has 1550 miles on it when bought from a private owner last week....I also have three two wheelers.....I enjoy the trike a lot...each ride gets easier to handle.....I imagine I may have it raked later this year.....I ride solo and also do not envision taking more than day trips so my 180 lbs and the trike are just right for each other...It has a tiny leak in the front of the differential....I'll look into that in due time....I got it for less than half price of what a new one would have cost that year....I am 77 years old.

    Regards to all,

    Bob in North Carolina...

Today I bought a 85 GL1200 Asp. with a first version Lehman on it it is supposed to be the third one John Built. only has 92,000 kms on it. rides real rough for me. have to play with suspension air setttings and tire pressures. have built 2 trikes from scatch in last 20 yrs from Honda CX 500 and a GL 1100 and then in 2009 bought damaged 05 1800 with a CSC,which I had to sell to pay bills.
like to find out more about this 85.. seller told me it has a 1964 Ford Falcon diff..but it has 5 stud wheels. those old falcons had 4 stud wheels I thought ?
