Yea, Kevin has them on sale now as a package, so probably how I'll go. I decided to wait until tomorrow to order, so I can talk to them about them.

Default Well off work and can't take it

I just ordered fork upgrade springs and valving for the forks on old Shiney so another DIY photos will be coming up. The Pro Action rear shocks are so nice I am going to complete the job. I have never taken the forks off before but I'm going to after all it's not Rocket science LOL... Wrench safe Fred

where did you get the sunshade on your GPS?

    1) How long to remove the body, and how much on the ground time? The new knees are pain free, but, I just don't like getting get on the ground anymore. Actually, I don't mind getting down, doing what I need to do, then getting up, it's the getting up and down 10 times on each side that kills me. I would like to clean under there and do some checking.

    2) I have the comfort lift on the Fat Bottom Girl. I'm not sure why, but, I'm fairly sure that lift will not work with the pro action shocks. Is this true? I wanna make sure I order the right stuff.

Okay, having said that, today I decided that I still don't like the light tint windshield (the LRS 12" recurve in light tint), the windshield is great, I just like a clear windshield. So I put the 12" F4 recurve in clear back on.

It is not terribly difficult Fred . . . just a bit tedious. I helped a friend install Legend fork cartridges on his 2011 Road Glide a couple years ago. If the fork oil has been in there for quite a while be prepared for very unpleasant odor!

To my knowledge it has never been changed, time to do something. I'm more concerned removing the lower Dash and popping the ignition switch last time it was a real task getting it back together. The rest is gathering up materials for holding the fork tube soft alloy angle metal of which I have none of at the moment. As far as Jacks, Vises and hand tools I have plenty. I may plan to line steel strap with leather so not to mark the tubes. Fred

I've pull the ignition switch on numerous bikes and trikes . . . my own and friends. One thing for sure to NOT do is to turn the handlebars to full lock left. After installing new handlebars on my 2018 TG I wanted to check full right and left to make sure cables and lines were not in a bind.

When I went full left even with the ignition switch removed the front fork locked. I had to take a screwdriver and shine a light down the hole to manipulate and realign the mechanism. Took several tries and I was sweating bullets wondering how I'd deal with it if I couldn't get things lined up. So be careful there.

The GPS is in the infotainment system. What you see on the left hand control is the Power Vision and the sun shade comes in the box for the power vision and is a removable part of the Power Vision mount. It can be ordered from Dyno Jet, and maybe could be modified to fit your GPS mount, it's held on with a single screw.

    https://www.dynojet.com/power-vision-black-visor/

You have to buy the whole mount, but you might be able to make it fit.

    Default Pro Shocks

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a bit. Mom's sister called this morning and needs more money to get her husbands affairs in order. Not sure how much yet, so might just be a pause. Guess it's more important to know my aunt is taken care of than give my old B$tt a more comfortable ride.

Chester, here is a link to Glarestomper which makes sunshades for many, many different GPS units. I had one on my old Zumo 660. Probably going to buy one now for my current unit, a Zumo 590. Cheap and effective.

I stole a large volume syringe or two from the Navy Corpsmen before I retired. They work well for forks ... and after me overfilling the trike after the cool and clean install, I might use them for filling the oil ...

Looks good Fred ... but does your wife know you stole the nasal syringe?????

And for the record, necessity may be the mother of invention ... but ... her two sisters are laziness and frugalness ...

So ... since I'm still in the lock down mode ... sorta ... I was playing on DK Custom's web site and noticed they were out of the 13" shocks but had some 14" left, and not sure when they would be back in stock.

About the same time, I got a call from my aunt, she got her stimulus, so, she won't need my help with the lawyers fees.

Yep, went to order the 14" shocks and lift. Alas I was not certain as to what or how to answer the questions. Remember me .... A.B. Normal Engineering ... their questions were geared to more "normal folks", rightly so.

So I decided to call Kevin ... as usual, I messed that up too ... LOL ... when I put his new number in my phone, I put it in as work, and somehow, I had the work as cell. I got a very nice gal named Lorelei, I think that was it.

She was wonderful, walked me through my "unique" requirements. Co Rider 20#, gear 40#, trailer with 17# tongue weight, etc. Maybe not all that unique, but, outside the scope of questions as I was taking them. Anyway, as with all of Kevin's customer service people (and that's all of his people), she took good care of me and my "issues".

It is so refreshing to call a company and actually get someone who knows their products, speaks a language you actually understand (I do understand southern, even if I do tend to get lost in the sweetness of a southern belle speaking it ), and most importantly respects you and your business.

I thought I wanted USPS Priority, but, she told me UPS was actually getting things out better in these weird times, so I took her advice. And that saved me $$$ ... go figure. Great customer service, I wanna say again, but it's more like still.

All and All .. a very pleasant phone call .. even if it was a tad short .... I could listen to a woman speak southern all day ... LOL. So now I have a new "Lockdown Project" ... Now I need to decide whether to pull the body or just do the install from below. I'll do my usual pro and con matrix ... and when that doesn't work ... I'll flip a coin.

Remember when I couldn't decide to buy the tri or not ... Zook helped with that ... LOL.

Good deal Fuzzy. You will love the 14" Pro Action shocks. Kind of a toss up on removing the body. Since you have the older style air shocks there is not all that plumbing like on the 19s and later with the hydraulic adjustable shocks so it's a bit easier. Having a ratcheting box end 3/4" wrench will help greatly in removing and re-installing that top bolt.

But I still think I'd prefer to pull the body. It will make the shock swap out easier and you can give everything a good cleaning.
