2015 Harley Tri Glide
I broke down and spent $7 to get the State Inspection done so I can get it licensed (on line) for tomorrow (July 1st). I hate to give the government money so they can tell me my lights are working
Changed out the front tire to the Avon AV91 trike tire. Put 85 miles on it seems good to me, lol. No vibration, smooth at 92 mph, seems a lot better in slow speed maneuvers. Front feels lighter, but it seems to track well in tight corners. Also added my old cvo mufflers with the 2” Fullsac cores from my old 15 RG. A little increase is sound but not much with the cat in place.
As part of the Kira training program, I set the puppy run up and went out to do an install of the new Butler Deluxe Driver set.
Stock Set Up:
Since I already had a P mount, I ordered this thinking I could use the second P mount to put the Ciro phone holder on. I mounted the drink holder on the front facing P mount and the Ciro ball on the rear facing mount. I may try it with them swapped, but, this works well. The 20 oz Butler ring will fit the 40 oz tumbler, but, it's really tight and hard to get in one handed. I have like 4 of the 20 oz rings laying around, came off bikes, I always liked the larger cup and ring, so I got one on the tumbler. The I put it all in the oven at 180* for 30 minutes. Took it out and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. The heating relaxed the ring a tad, so now you can get the tumbler in the ring one handed easily. It holds the tumbler very snuggly.
With the 40 oz Reduce Tumbler and straw, I have tested this configuration at 80 mph with carbonated beverages, no leaks, no splashes. The straw has a raised nob that goes inside the cup. The nob prevents the straw from being pulled out by fast moving air.
You may be able to see the extra P mount which I've attached the ciro ball to. This will allow me to mount the phone or my Garmin Zumo 550. Still not sure I trust the Harley GPS. I mounted the P mounts opposite each other and used a shorter spacer to make up for the extra thickness.
From the back of the mount.
I'm really liking this arrangement. As a side note, the 40 oz tumbler fits in the Jeeps drink holder without any mods. I also added one of the 20 oz rings to my bed frame so the tumbler is right where I need it to be ... . Due to being put on a ventilator after an adverse reaction to anesthesia during my second knee operation, my throat has tons of scar tissue that tends to dry out. I drink something pretty much all day.
Went for a 70 Mile test run run this am, a bit disappointed with the cvo mufflers. With the 2” baffles in and the stock headpipe, It seemed a bit sluggish, ran ok, but didn’t seem to pull as well. Checked the plugs the ecm compensated just fine, I think I would really need to put a tuner on it for better results. So back to the stock mufflers for now. The second change out went a lot faster, lol.
I've been setting up the dog run next to the trike when I play with it. I leave her in there and start the trike to put it back into the garage. She jumped a bit the first time I fired it up, but, after that, she kind of just ignored it as "Daddy's noisy Toy".
Today I decided she was ready. I put the pet palace back on the trike, loaded her up with her new harness and off we went. Slow at first ... just around the cul de sac ... then around my neighborhood and finally about a 10 mile ride. She appears to like it more than Harley did.
I will give her a little more length on her tether as she gets more used to it. But for now, I'll keep her shortened a bit. You can't see it in the picture, but, she has a "Mint Green" cushion in the bottom and a "Mint Green" harness just for riding ... LOL ... not saying she's spoiled, but, maybe just a tad overly loved.

Hope you have a great trip Bill. I'm planning / hoping to ride to Colorado with some buds next week. We're checking travel restrictions now. This is getting a bit scary. Almost like you need a passport / visa to travel to various states and even the municipalities are getting into the act. Hopefully you nor I will encounter any difficulties.
Added new home made led turn and drive lights. To the front of each rear fender. lights up each fender very well to on coming traffic. Wile the ball is still rolling we added. DK Customs extended brake pedal & rider floorboard extensions. Truly worth every cent. I have never been able to lock up the rear brakes with the stock peddle! Now I can!
Thanks Kevin and your team!

I finally got the buzz fixed on my Avon Trike Front Tire ... but ... I shudder to tell ya how ...
I actually took it to a buddy who is the Service Manager at a Honda Dealer. They balanced the tire in 30 minutes and did actually have to add weights.
The indy that installed the tire originally, then removed the RideOn, and rebalanced it said that it balanced with no weights. I've been riding some form of bike for 50 years and have never seen that before ... I'm sure it happens, just never seen it.
Anyway, after balancing, I headed to the highway and voila, no buzz.
good to hear it was not a bad tire just needed attention. I may need one front tire that is possibly next year we'll see what is available then. I'm going to be very objective about choice. With the miles I'm getting on the Michelin we will see. Good for you get rid of the buzz. Fred
