After a full debugging, while drying the headlight felt loose. After removing the bling , there was 2 alignment screws that walked out. So I went to my garage to reaim it with locktite on the threads.
Its a after mkt. dual burn led. My bad ,as I never seized the screws when I installed it.
All better now , I hope.

Filled the tank with 91octane real gas, no alcohol, at my local service station. Starting to see more and more places carrying non-alcohol gas. Anywere from 87 to 93 octane. Running about $.30 a gal higher than 91octane wiith alcohol.

With mom down, I've been limited to little rides an hour or so ... been using these rides to calibrate the PV mpg calculation. Last time I did this it took forever. I was doing a little hit or miss adjusting.
This time I decided to go a little scientific ... LOL
There are basically three variables:
PV Recorded MPG
Actual MPG (miles divided by gallons)
PV MPG setting
So .. easy math ... unless it's been so long I've forgotten how to do this ... LOL ... could be.
Here's the formula I've been using:
(actual mpg / pv mpg) * pv setting = new pv setting. For example (my first calculation)
PV MPG = 35.5
Actual MPG = 33.4
PV Setting = 1989 (default)
(33.4/35.5) * 1989 = 1871
So what I've been doing, making my rides a variety (city, country and highway) of miles. Each fill I create a new map where the only change is the MPG setting. I load that map and use it until the next fill. I've done 3 fills and am pretty close. This morning I did a fill.
Here's the results:
PV mpg 34.70
Actual mpg 34.17
PV setting 1946
New pv setting 1916
The kewl thing about this ... it appears that the trip meter range indicator is just doing the PV MPG * 6.0 gallons .... how kewl would it be if you could actually trust that range number ...
After I filled the tank, the range # went to 208 ... or 34.7 * 6.0 = 208.2 ...
I'll keep you posted. This is what happens when you have an overactive brain, retire, then get to take care of your mother while she heals from a cracked hip ...
I was thinking the last number I had was accurate, but, it was for the Ultra Limited, not a trike ... probably still more accurate than the HD numbers, but, might as well be dead on if you can.
Replaced the left rear fender today. It was a victim of a semi tire blowout.
