Racetech front and rear end --- think price is right ??

There is really just one way to go, on the front end..... Which is a gold valve in the one fork, and an emulator in the other. We'll also be replacing the springs.

On the rear, there are 2 routes that you can take. One is to rework the original shock & preload hose, with a gold valve & the proper spring.

The other direction, is a billet Race Tech G3 shock. We'll still have to send in your old shock, as they must use some parts from it. I's say though, that for the slight extra charge, it's the best deal. With a custom shock, they can usea larger piston, wich will give a much more plush ride.

The labor is 474. whichever way you decide to go.

The reworked stock shock parts (and labor in California), is $969. This includes the front too. That makes for a total of $1443 (+tax), all done.

What is fair price for ALL BALLS installation ???

Id have to have ridden a setup as you have described before Id invest that large a chunk of change on a maybe.
But if you have and are happy with the results.
Id go for it.

Personally Im leaning towards the new Hannigan 180 front end.

About double the bux but it sure has my attention.
I also need to have more input from other owners of it besides Wheels.
He has had nothing but positives for it.
Already he has 3K on his new ride with that setup.

Jay, The Hannigan suspension is nice(and expensive) but that still does not do anything to improve the RIDE. You would still need to do something with the front suspension. Traxxion, Progressive, rebuilt stock or whatever.

I don't know what the Hannigan 180 is made from.
I haven't done my homework, I just like what I see.
I don't know that it uses the stock tubes of the GW.
Or is of their own design.
I know that a more car like tire in itself on the front end can and does improve the ride of bike a few 100 percent.
All my 2 wheelers over the last 20 years have been double Dark.
Car or light truck tire rear,rear bike tire front.

I can only go on my experience with emulators on a true 2 shock front end.
My RoadStar which has been double dark for 7 years.
They (emulators) didn't do a heck of a lot of anything for the money I spent. The progressive springs decreased the front end dive during hard braking which was nice but in the end the ride itself was harsher.
End result.

Back to OEM springs with the emulators still in there. 7 weight oil. Rear bike tire on the front. The tire itself is the biggest improvement.
Now with my experience trying to get a decent ride out of my 99 Valks front end, in a word.
IMPOSSIBLE.
That bike road like a box O rocks from the day I bought it till the day I sold it. I played with its internal adjustments and various weights of oils.
Took out the progressives it came with put in OEM springs.
I could be very wrong here as I have no knowledge of the Traxxion front end set up. So I cant comment on it but I will read up on it for sure.

What I guess Im saying here is with the Wings(Valk) front end having one leg as a shock and one as a dampener. Getting a comfy front end for me has been difficult. Or maybe better said, getting it to my liking.
So for now OEM as I have it with a brace and raked. MPA rear on is about as good as its going to be.
But you are probably correct, I have a lot yet to learn.

From my other posts I think you may have gathered what I desire.
A mushy cushy ride, more Cadillac then BMW.
But in reality I don't think it can actually be done with a motor cycle.
A front end that absorbs bumps and road irregularities like a cars front suspension. I don't believe is possible with a bikes front end geometry.

I have to say another thing that has nothing to do with this thread. My RoadStar rides better over all then the trike does.
For now.
I have on order and am just waiting for the spanner I ordered yesterday. The coil over shocks on my Motor Trike setup are on the stiffest setting. I need to play with the shocks settings a bit.
Before I spend a penny on whatever might be needed or to make things better for me.
This time around.
I have to sample it first.

If for no other reason a beefier front end is visually more to my liking.
The Hannigan 180s appearance alone has my attention.
Believe me Im not spending that kind of money till I do some things around the house 1st.

More importantly
I have no desire to hijack the thread with me and my wishes.

Ive more or less accepted that the GW overall is what it is and can live with it as it is.

I took my 2 wheeled GL1800 to Georgia and had the installer that does Lee Parks Race Bikes do a complete upgrade and it transformed the bike. I left there and rode to Deals Gap and rode it 8 consecutive times just to get some great pics. LOL

For me it was the best money I spent on the GL...
