anybody trike there bike with roadsmith

new on board and i am buying roadsmith kit and going to trike it myself any one on here that has done this and can tell me what to look for and keep in mine as i try doing this. thanks for you input

Have a Roadsmith bought and paid for a few weeks ago.

Many of us are riding Road Smith's, I think you will be happy with your choice. Of course, I can't answer your question, I had the RS Trike Shop do the conversion. However, the instructions that came with the trike seems pretty straight forward, step by step. I'm just not a wrench by any stretch, so I wouldn't attempt the conversion.

I also had my Roadsmith unit installed by another dealer so I can't help in the installation process. But I can tell you that you're gonna 'Love' the Roadsmith!!

that is what i am doing to. i build street rods and do all my own work and also do my oun painting to, just want to know and talk to some one that has done his own roadsmith kit to see if there is anythink to look for that would help out in doing it

Did a Champion on a Yamaha Road Star 2 years ago, was easy, had a couple of parts there was shipped wrong with kit.
Looking forward to do the Roadsmith on my Honda. Going from 2 cyl. to 6 cyl.

Did my own install and paint work. Best thing to do is download their install instructions (from their website) and study them over and over till you got it down pat before you start the build. Most everything is purty straight forward.

thanks bullet, that is what i wanted to here from someone that has done it. i have been study it very day and well tell i get the kit sometime week of the dec 16th,,, the instructions says that you get the tool with it to take the swing arm off with was that the case did you kit come with it thanks again, if i have any ????? i well send you a pm and get you phone no and just call you ok

I did my 89 tour glide ultra with a champion kit and a rake kit bought from zook.

google- pcombe library/photobucket- for pics of the conversion, you may pick up an idea or two.
I show an easier way to remove the bottom neck bearing also.

I had to manufacture a few one off parts myself due to the age of bike, but the kit its self was fairly straightforward.

That being said, keep your motor manual handy for reference, I would suggest if you don't have a motor manual, Get one before you start.

Yes it does come with that tool. What it won't come with is the two foot 1/2 inch breaker bar and three foot cheater bar I had to use on the right side to break that side loose. (had to stand on that cheater bar and do a few bounces to get it to get loose.) The left side was a piece a cake. Right side bolt was frozen on my ride. There's a good chance you won't have that problem.

I was talking about the swing arm bolts when I made that last statement. They are standard thread (lefty loosey). The center stand bolt left side is (lefty loosey) (right side) is reverse thread (righty loosey).
