    Default Motor Trike Adventure Pro/Con

I have seen advertised a trike that interests me and I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has knowledge or experience with the Motor Trike Adventure conversion to share with me your wisdom. Thanks in advance.

    Just my $.02!
While the MT is among the best, it was crossed off my list early in my search for a conversion for 2 reasons.
    1. It is a short wheel base and the longer wheel base conversions seemed to provide a smoother ride for me and my bride!
    2. The biggest concern is the rear end is centered, makes for a severely offset drive shaft. This means a LOT more maintenance and a much higher possibility of "problems"!
    Again, just my $.02
    YMMV

I agree with both points to a certain degree. Although, I don't believe either are MAJOR concerns. There are literally hundreds of Adventure owner that love the ride this independent suspension gives and very few of us have experienced even the slightest drive line issue. That being said; if ride smoothness is the #1 deciding factor then Hannigan or Roadsmith conversions probable are the better choices with CSC, Champion, and Lehman the mid level, followed by MotorTrike as the shortest and narrowest conversion.

This last point is exactly why I chose the MT Adventure. It is the most responsive and quickest turning of all popular conversion. In the tight turns and parking lots this is a real benefit to say the least.

I hope the OP enjoys what ever he chooses to ride.......

I have to agree with Jerry and his last point 101%.
For my needs and I did no homework before making my purchase.
A 2010 GW with Adventurer kit.
I needed it yesterday and bought it 2 days before then.
    This machine handles so well.
It puts my 2 wheels to shame in most categories.
As I use my trike to commute daily and very rarely(once in a year) have had a passenger. That parts not a consideration for me.
But the handling in a word.
    Superior.
The ride for a short wheel base is very good too one up.

I have a 2008 with an Adventure kit on it -

I went from a 2007 with a Champion SA to the Adventure. Handling is totally awesome and my wife absolutely loves the ride. Shorter wheel base ? Narrower stance ? Pretty sure I don't care - not to mention the people at MotorTrike are most helpful !

    Hi
Here are my two pennyworth( UK style)
My wife and I had this kit, M-trike adventure, installed on a trike we used for a trip to Alaska and back and various trips around the western States, Total 8500ml. my verdict would be awesome! Anyone who has travelled the testing road surfaces of the Alaskan Highway would tell you that you really need a sound and comfortable suspension to take care of some of the permafrost effected section of road you get, and for us miles of reconstruction taking place at the time we road it. At that time Canada and Alaska had one of the worst summers that they have had, how's that for luck? I have ridden a number of trikes Lehman, EML and Eurowing , the Motortrike adventure is certainly the most comfortable. (until I had my own Eurowing converted with MMD air suspension , both back and front, and that beats them all). Not having ridden any of the longer wheel based trikes I can not comment on the handling but any vehicle that has a reduced wheel base will have a better turn in, depending on the angle of steering. The Motortrike is also of similar length and width as both the EML and the Eurowing. These two trike handle even better than the M/T Adventure and can out turn many a solo on bends. My wife refuses to ride on wide trikes , having ridden on a Grinnal BMW once. Her fears being that all she could see was the wheel sticking out so far that she always had the feeling that we would hit something. The finish on the Motor trike was also superb as was there after service after smashing two spot light from stone on the reconstructed roads. How's that for service?

    Ride safe if not slowly

    Hi
I can't comment on other brands because I went specifically after MT. MT is local for me and I have been to the plant outside of Troup and they have quite an extensive operation. I was impressed. As for my ride, I love it. It is very responsive, extremely smooth and feels like it has a good solid foundation. Mine is a 2010 and I had it raked. Steering is super and I feel secure even if it does have a smaller footprint. I wanted the narrower base so that it would fit on my trailer when needed with no problem. I don't feel the imperfections in the roads as some suggest would happen with the smaller wheelbase. Overall, I am impressed with MT. However, what is most important, my wife is impressed with the ride, and she is who I want to please.

I had a 2012 Can Am Spuder RT A/C SEM5 and after 4900 miles of pure and complete disappointment I had my beloved 2012 Stage 3 Candy Apple Red 1800 with 3500 miles triked. I did not want to make another mistake so I spent untold hours reading this and other forums soaking up knowledge from you guys. I also visited several trike dealers in three states and settled on the Motor Trike Razor with two tone paint and aqua shields. What finally tipped the scale was talking to the mechanics at Cherokee Trikes in Greer SC. They sell and install trike kits from several manufactures. From their mechanics experience Motor Trike Adventure/Razor was the best kit from all aspects. They had nothing bad to say about other manufactures and had other kits onsite in crates which made it easy to point out the differences. The Razor makes the Spuder seem like a three wheeled Ford Model T in my humble but accurate and experienced opinion. Do you guys remember the carton dog back in the 70's that would jump into the air and float back down when he was given a dog biscuit (Snuffles)? That's me when I get on the Razor. It handles like its on rails. On the interstate I believe you could set the cruse control and take a nap without worrying about leaving the road. Best of all Mamma is happy. Her biggest problem now is staying awake. She says she now knows why dogs stick their head out the window and let their tongue flap in the wind. I had to make her quit doing that. It was getting slobber on the folks behind us. I highly recommend Cherokee Trikes. Go to their web site and read the "about us" information. All the folks at Cherokee Trikes are a class act.

I choose my Motor Trike 2010 Adventure kit for 2003 Goldwing. I like that it is short and narrow, it's more like a 2 wheeler.

Motor Trike makes a great kit. They use coil over hydraulic adjustable shocks and air bags. You can adjust your ride quality any way you want it. Because of it's short wheel base it corners extremely well and doesn't affect ride quality. When I bought mine I rode it home about 175 miles, I was asking my wife how she liked it and she said it was smoother than the wing on 2 wheels. I started hitting rumble strips on purpose and she asked what the noise was? She never felt the rumble strips, so I was looking for other obstacles on the road manhole covers etc. and was running them over with a similar response.
The Adventure has a great reputation for quality, just look at the web-site you won't find to many negative posts. And they stand behind their product. I hope this helps.
