I surmise that I should word my post carefully, so here goes.
All of the ruckus about what Phil Robertson (Of Duck Dynasty fame) has said in his interview with QG Magazine is completely unfounded. Mr. Robertson said what he felt from his heart and owes no one an apology for his comments. He is entitled to speak what he believes and the A&E network should not do anything to Mr. Robertson.

I for one happens to agree with most all of what he said in his interview. Above and beyond that, it is very clear that the network is only interested in ratings and revenue from advertising. I've never been accused of being politically correct, very far from it. Mr. Robertson never said he hated or meant ill will towards anyone of any persuasion. He simply stated that he did not agree with that type of lifestyle. So at risk of having myself banned from this site, Ive posted my feelings on this matter with the most politically correct words I can muster.

IMHO we should all ban A&E from our tv's until such a time that the network comes to it's senses and brings Mr. Robertson back and makes him whole again financially. I choose not to get into an argument with the good folks on this site. So I won't be responding to any comments or questions regarding my views or feelings.

I've only occasionally watched the show, but haven't seen the News, in regards to this. I'm assuming something was said that may have been "politically incorrect", and one of the show's stars are being sanctioned for that. I just wonder why it is that these minority groups always are allowed to spout their feelings and beliefs, but someone with an opposing sentiment is censored. Yep, things in our world seem awfully askew to me as well. Human rights are one thing, but free speech should be for everybody... not just a minority.

My feeling is that the entire family ought to walk out on the show and A&E. They don't need the money. the family should stick together and say all or nothing to A&E. I have never seen the show and could care less about it but Phil has a right to say whatever he wants to anyone he wants to speak to. GQ asked the questions to trap him into answering controversial questions what does America expect him to do, lie about what and who he is.
I'd buy a duck call if I knew where to buy one.

I have never seen the show as i don't see much reality in staged reality?
That holds true of any reality show as far i can see?

Freedom of speech is quickly going the way of privacy and gun issues in our society and in many ways we contribute to that loss.

I know how to walk on egg shells when necessary for the sake of the weak esteemed so as not to hurt their wee wittle feewings, and most of the time im a hell of a nice guy!
I don't go out of my way to hurt or offend!

However i don't apologize for having a sense of reality myself?

Just because i am trying to lead a kinder more gentle existence, i refuse to let anybody PUSH their Fantasies of how i should conduct myself in their pressence down my throat?

I know the difference between rigorous honesty and brutal honesty.
Rigorous honesty tells it like it is and has the power to change ones point of view, and brutal honesty kills the one who WISHES to be injured by words.

There are so many pefectly fine words that were once accepted in our society that are now viewed as being highly insensitive?

Why did all us Vets go to fight a war for? We have no rights anymore and yes this administration is taking more away or at least trying. You can't say crap anymore without stepping on somebodies feet. But they can say stuff bad to one another and it's ok.
