Who made this trike kit

Looking at this trike and owner does not know who made kit. Can anyone please tell me what type of kit it is. The bike is an 89 gl1500.

At first glance I thought it was a trikeshop ultimate but after closer look I do not think so. I did see a kit similiar to this once and I think it was an early CSC conversion.

I talked to the girl at Roadsmith she thinks it maybe one of there early kits. I would think this early trike is a solid axle owner didn't know. Going to see it next week. Owner just called said he thinks the builder had just 3 letters in it's name. I hope someone has seen this body type before. Do any of the builders put a Id or name plate some where on the body.

A friend of mine had an Trikeshop Ultimate. Here is a pic. of the rear of it. It was a mid 90s conversion. It is similiar but not exactly like the one you posted. It is the second from right.

Thanks for the pictures. The enclosed fenders look the same it has a extended trunk lid maybe the lid was a add on.

Rowdy, is $8500. a good price. It's missing caliper/rotor covers looks like the front fender is missing a piece out of it by the gw emblem. The owner just had fork seals, carb's rebuilt, tune up and brakes done on it. If I buy it have to change the color maybe open up the enclosed fenders. I know it's going to need some work it's a 89. I think it maybe a good start to see if we are going to like a trike. I had a 89 goldwing great bike.

An 89' model trike sure won't ride like a newer one, totally different technology...

</div><b>Not knowing the history of the bike I cannot comment on the price. I do know that to paint a GW trike is outrageously high. Also the parts replacement such as the fender is not cheap.

Buying a trike that is somewhat outdated and less than reliable would not be a good indicator in my mind of whether you would like a trike or not. There is a lot of difference in the ride and comfort between kits so if I were you I would ride as many as possible to compare to this one. Sorry I am not of more help.<br />

The more I think about it I think that it is an early CSC kit as I mentioned in an earlier post but not sure.<br />

Y paint needed? What part of the front fender near GW missing?
Not a great price for old unknown kit! I have seen many in the $10,000 and under price range that would make a better choice. Is this real close to your location? Is that a buying reason?
paint would be $2,000 for a decent job, if u stripped it,and took it apart. $7,000 would be reasonable. When you go to sell it you will get the same response.

Older is not necessarily "bad" (see my "collection"), but older that needs parts, paint and you don't even know what it is? I'd stay away and use the $$ elsewhere. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I did get it for a better price. Found out it's a California Side Car trike called the Tour early 90's. It has been sitting for a long time put Sea Foam in the new gas ran for about an hour and the carb's are alot better 1 more can of Sea Foam I think they are going to be ok. It has no brake lights working from foot or handle bars checked fuse good, has power to relay changed relay still no lights. Will start looking where trailer lights are tapped in. Mechanicaly it seems to be ok will do a complete service. After service and electrical will start pulling body off so I can get it ready for painting. Next thing will be new tires after reading alot of posts about the front tire finialy found answer about why to use the rear tire on front. So far my total costs for some body panels, tires, servicing and painting for about $800.00 not bad to get it back on the road. Not to bad for less than $7000. to get this trike back on the road and for being my first trike.I know my cost will go up some for add ons and changes. I have enjoyed restoring bikes and cars for a long time. It's going to be a fun project and looking forward to riding.

Good for you Glenn. I hope you enjoy it. The CSC I saw similiar to yours made me wonder how much trouble it was to get a rear wheel off with the body on.
