    I agree with Cougar. Fourth gear is the best when pulling heavy load. I ride fourth gear even when I don't pull my trailer. (aluminum) I have the 09 RSV Hannigan kit, and there is plenty of power in the fourth gear. I discovered the the fifth gear (overdrive ) performs best at speeds of 75 and above. <br />
    <br />
    I do run 4th gear at 75 and it still have plenty of power to continue - but I usually will shift to the fifth. As far as power is concern - there is plenty of power in the V4 1300 engine. I'm able to keep up with most of the trikes. <br />
    <br />
    You won't be disappointed with power except starting off in the first two gears. The weight (320) added to the trike does make it sluggish in those gears.

    I usually ride 1 up and the first two gears don't exist as far as I'm concern. I ride slow on roads with traffic lights so I don't have to stop to often.<br />
    <br />
    Anyway - whatever you do - enjoy the bike and be safe.

    Cool Re: Venture Power?

    Same here I will not even think about 5th gear unless I am on a long, long freeway
    and I might hit 70 then I will kick it into 5th. otherwise I never go over 4th anymore.
    the gas mileage is the same , and these engines like the higher revs.

    However , as of two days ago. I am looking into this option as well. I even
    have a second complete clutch basket to send in as they need the whole unit
    so your Trike will be down for a bit. If I don't like it I just throw the old one
    back in :-) cost is $695

    http://www.efmautoclutch.com/
    http://www.efmautoclutch.com/street.shtml

    I won't be able to order it in till the end of FEB. But I am excited to give it a try :-)
    view some of the videos.

    This will help with some of my wrist problems as well. you also can still use the
    clutch lever if you want but with only half the pull on the lever.

    We do :-) ours is for corn and beans that OK
    mine will weigh way over that tho. I have a million tons
    of extra chrome and so many add on's. I bet our Trike weighs over 1400 lbs.

    Craig, I regularly push Sexi on the interstate 2 up with the trailer at speeds of 70 - 80 with no issues other than gas mileage. With the different rear ratio what you will notice is a lot higher RPM's for the same speed as the 2 wheel. It's sort of like swapping out the stock RSV with a VMax rear end on the 2 wheelers, the RPM's go up but the bike is more responsive, and 5th gear then becomes more practical.<br />
    <br />
    You are going to be hard pressed to find a more comfortable option than the Hannigan RSV. The only issue I have is the need to get the handlebars back further, which I am accomplishing with a combination of Flanders bars and Baron's risers. That and Kuryakyn longhorn pegs for me and Diamond R switchblade pegs for Becky and we are happy campers! For seating the stock pillowtops are best but do the Butt Butler mod on your seat. We also use a sheepskin which makes a world of difference. A Utopia backrest for me completes the driving comfort.<br />
    <br />
    Now if you really want power, then talk to Dingy and convert to a VMax engine...<br />
    <br />
    PS the Dyna 3000 is my next investment...

    Default EFM Auto Clutch

    UPDATE :<br />
    <br />
    My Basket is at EFM for the MOD.<br />
    <br />
    Will post picks and stuff later. this will be nice not<br />
    having to pull the clutch lever in at all. you can if<br />
    you want to. its about a 1/4 pull if you use it.<br />
    <br />
    He is making it a bit different do to the weight of the Trike.<br />
    (adding more weight to something)<br />
    <br />
    I also talked with Hannigan and they now make a parking break<br />
    for the RSV Trike. OH MY !!! so many add-ons.<br />
    <br />
    I did order Velcro for my temporary parking break until I go ahead<br />
    with Hannigans parking break.<br />
    <br />
    Will keep you posted.<br />

    3/14/14 update :

    After talking a bit more with Garry,

    I was
    not shifting in the right manner for the auto
    clutch, you must let off the
    throttle just a tad then shift
    for no slip. so the set-up was perfect from
    the get go.

    The first time I road with it I was letting the RPMs drop as
    if you
    used the clutch lever. (that will cause the slip)

    I road more
    today and I absolutely love it.

    So if anyone want to go this
    route for there trike it will
    take a few miles to learn it. kind of like
    going from 2 wheels
    to 3 wheels. I just wish It the roads and weather would
    get better
    soon so I can really work this clutch harder.

    I think the
    hardest part is not wanting to pull the clutch lever in all the time

    I do think that it is a good thing for a
    Trike . Not sure for the 2 wheelers tho.

    If you decide to go this route
    feel free to call me or email me in the future.

    Now to add the Parking
    Brake.

    For the front brake I drilled a hole thru the ball shape on the brake lever. took a pc. of leather string about a ft. long tied the two ends together at a point where when I applied the brake I slipped the loop over the throttle and it held the brake tight. I added extra length after the knot and put some colored beads on the string to use has a pulling handle so to speak. works great. and the leather doesn't stretch out.

    would like to pick your brain if you have time one day please.
