Anyone have a current list of installers? Hopefully some in Iowa, besides Lithium Motorsports in Sioux City? That is a little far. bigred06

Depending on how handy you are there always is the option of pulling the legs and shipping them to Traxxion where I believe they will do build for $150 and then ship them back.

That's for springs. The AK-20 kit is $1,200!
I found the springs to stiff for me!

Do you know if you had the 1.1 or 1.2 springs?

Traxxion / Read all about it: http://www.traxxion.com/hondagoldwing.aspx

AK20 Fork Kit is 1200.00 plus 200.00 to rebuild your forks and install kit, you remove and send them to Traxxion PPD

Their Fork Spring Kit is 130.00 with you specifying weights... they can also install these.... details on website. Go LOOK !!

    Don't rely on someone else....

Traxxion rates their springs - See website / You will get a stated reply from them ... not a guess!!

Speaking of / Dawg I believe I read where you had Progressive Springs installed NOT Traxxion - get it straight big boy!!!

Damn! Solidbob, you get up on wrong side of bed? I been to their website and read info. Website not up to date on installers. I wanted to get some firsthand info from some that have had it done. bigred06

That is a very good question. I never asked and was unaware Traxxion had more than 1 rate spring at that time! The bike I rode was a used one for sell at a dealer. It was not a trike!

I have never stated I had any after market springs in my bike. My statements were about having ridden friends bikes & trikes w/Progressive springs and Traxxion kits.
You can back off the trolling now!
I do have a close friend w/Progressive Mono-tubes in his Wing, 2 wheeler. He says the ride is great. I contacted Progressive some time ago about marketing Mono-tubes for trikes. For whatever reason, Progressive later decided they would not have these for trikes?????
There are some that have modified the "tops" of the tubes to fit trikes w/the extended fork caps. However, Progressive stated doing this would void the warranty!

Not Trolling Dawg, remember I WAS a member at MCT / now a Guest by MY choice - What you report is not always factual! I have a right to be a member or not at any website it is not YOUR decision.

bigred06 - Had a wonderful day yesterday, just reporting facts as I have Traxxion on MY TRIKE not someone else's that I rode. Traxxion units are sized by Customer Weight ad riding style as stated on their website. Traxxion offers many spring rates not one fits all. The forks were sent in and re-installed by me, so I have personal knowledge.

I just wanted everyone to get first hand knowledge by providing their website so anyone looking had the link.

    Have a wonderful day.....

I'm a "You don't work, you don't ride" kinda guy. When I got tired of dealing with the anti-dive on my '02 GL1800, I called Traxxion and talked to them about having my forks reworked.

They want to know how much you weigh; How much your passenger weighs; and what portion of the time you ride two up.

Took my fork tubes off and mailed them. Traxxion got them in a couple of days, rebuilt them the following day and had them on the way back to me. My bike was only down for a week. Remember I'm in Alaska.

Someone on another thread mentioned that they entertained doing a "Track Day" after getting the AK-20's installed. I got that feeling also.

I think Traxxion has a pretty good understanding of what will work for a trike. I believe they work pretty closely with Hannigan. I know at one point they advertised that they were a Hannigan dealer.

The big question is: "Is it worth $1200 of your hard earned dollars?".

Congrats to another Traxxion believer , Yes they do make a Great difference to the Wing. Are they worth $1200.00 + 200.00 plus Postage They are to the two of us, I was the Track Day guy and it really did make that much difference. And for you on those Alaskan roads what an improvement, even makes the bike or trike feel faster. They do great work!!

I know the AK-20 is $1,200 dollars, my dad just had them installed in legs on his Triglide.

They must have raised their rebuild prices or my dad got a deal, he paid $150 for the rebuild on the legs for his Triglide.

I can't speak to Traxxion, but can to Raceteck progressives that were installed on my '04 GL1800 4 years/50,000 miles ago. That in combination with fork brace, Centramatic balancers and tapered head bearings makes my bike absolutely stable at speeds that would result in BIG fines, if caught, on the rare occasions I push the envelope. Tire cupping is at a minimum, with tire life pushing 18,000 miles front and back on Avon Cobras. I had the work done by a very competent mechanic, who will also be installing a Hannigan kit for me in the next few months. Yes, the bike is still 2-wheels, but with the exception of steering vs. counter-steering and the level and directions of stress on the front end, I'm trying to imagine how much difference there is between 2 and 3 wheel applications with fork interior modifications. I think I'll find out, though. Another change to the experience is that I'm getting the Hannigan '180' kit installed at the same time. I believe Hannigan beefs up their '180' assembly, and am curious to see their methodology. Traxxion or Raceteck, I expect either is a valid improvement to the GL1800 front suspension. Adding a brace and tapered head bearings seems prudent as well. What makes a 2-wheeler better, it seems to me, should make a 3-wheeler better as well. JMHO

I put them on my GL1800 when it was a bike (2005) and left them in place when I triked it (2009 CSC). I had changed the springs to suit my riding style on the bike and these also remain on the trike. Best money I ever spent for improving the ride.

What is the difference between a Traxxion setup vs Heavy Springs that some of the trike vendors offer as an option?
    Thanks,
