Taller windshield

I have the 2014 TG and I do not like the short windshield. It may work great with the redesigned fairing, but I'm old school and believe a taller windshield gives better protection. I'm thinking on getting a taller one (about eye level like the stock ones on all my past bikes) so I can duck down in the rain and look over it at night etc.
Has anyone installed a taller windshield and how do you like it? Any difference?
I know some riders like real short windshields because it looks cool. I don't want cool, I want protection. What are some of your thoughts.

Gary,I had a Clark windshield on my 11 triglide.I really liked it for the oversize it was.They are wider then most.I contacted them about shields for the 14's & they are now making them.As soon as i get my 14,i'll be able to take a measurement & get one ordered.Clarks Custom Windshields.

I am the same way I like to look thru and not over my windshield. Plus the protection as you know lots of stuff flying around on the roads.
I went with the LRS and has the curve on top to push the air up and over.

I have a Clarks Custom Shield on my 2011 Tri Glide. I look thru and it works great for me. No head buffeting at all. I have the 12''Half Moon wide w/light smoke tint.

I have the National V-Stream and before I go buying a new wind screen, I'm trying the Sange edging. I think that will go a long way for rain protection, if I get wind management, then that will be a plus.

I installed a 14 inch windshield replacing the stock 12 inch on my 2010 TG. The part number is 58314-97 from HD. I have the 12 inch if you are interested in buying it. Let me know.

Yes, but the 2014 is different than the 2013's & older. I know that they were 12" stock.

The 12 inch that came stock on my 2010 was OK but it was at eye level and it messed with my eyes while wearing glasses. I replaced it with the 14 inch.

I am not where I can measure mine right now but I was thinking it is 10 inch not a 12 inch on the 2014. I was wanting to try the 12 inch curved one.

I have 3 windshields for my TG.

A short recurve from LRS for summer...when it's hot I don't mind getting a bit of rain on me.

A tall recurve from LRS for cold weather.

The stock windshield that came on the 2011. It is a compromise windshield when we know were going to have both warm and cool weather. Like on the trip we made last summer up to Alaska.
