After riding with RHinehearts on my Ultra, I decided I wanted something mellow at cruising speed with the trike. I found that the loud pipes tired me out at the end of a 4-500 mile day. I tried the stockers but wanted a bit more, so I chose the SE fatshotz. A different look and nice smooth rumble. At cruising speed the wife and I can converse easily. I think the box on the trikes must bounce sound back to us somehow. A plus for me with the Fatshotz is that they are stamped as EPA compliant. No problems with the LEO.

Default ftermarket Exhaust on new Triglide

I have a 2016 Tri-Glide with Fullsac headers Reinharts slipons, and stage one SE air cleaner, and a pro tuner.
Sounds great to me. Not too loud on the highway at speed, but a nice bark when going thru the gears. Just my 2 cents.

I had the Fatshotz on my 2012TG - just a hair above stock(loved the look). Right now I'm looking to do something with my 2014 TG. Looking seriously at the Cobra's Race Pro. Really deep mellow sound and not much louder then stock(which I think is just about right). Best sounding stock exhaust yet - - - IMHO.

    Default Slip-ons

I went with H-D Screamin' Eagle Street Cannons. I like them a lot. I'm de-catted and its a bit on the loud side. My wifey does't care for them.

    Default Rineharts

I just bought a 2015 Triglide and liked the stock muffflers sound, but wanted a little louder and a better look. I installed a set of four inch Rinehards that "were" on the 06 flhtci that I traded in. They are not much louder, but a little better sound and really look nice with the DK lift kit I installed. The stock mufflers if you look inside you will see that they are just a big can with a baffle created at the exit. Looks like inside wall is coated with a material that looks like fiberglass only it would have to be a material that wouldn't burn off like fiberglass packing does. They won't sound much louder unless the cat is removed fron the header.

I hate Rhineharts-I will not ride with anyone that has them. If I have to I'll make sure I'm in front of them.
All they do is blip the %$#@ throttle at just about every stop sign. Very annoying - and I ride a bike. Can't imagine what non riders think - wait, yes I do - they want to ban motorcycles.

Don't come to Nv as most of the bikes and trikes run after market mufflers.

You will not be disappointed it adds just the right amount IMHO
So did you have to tune your bike after you cut your pipes up to get at the cat.

I just traded off my 2013 trike for a 2015 and i just love the 2015 sound dont think i change the mufflers. How hard is it to cut up the pipe to clean it out. And what does a new pipe cost with no cat. in it

It really all depends on what else you do to it. If that is all then the ecm will adjust for it. The sound will deepen just a little with the stock mufflers with the cat cut out. I can't answer the how hard because I had a friend do it that can weld.

I have been considering Rineharts but now I am concerned they just may be way too loud. It's one thing to listen to them at an idle and another altogether at 70mph. Any comments/experiences are appreciated
I installed vance & hines head pipe ( no cat convertor ) and the quietest mufflers they offer. To loud and bad bad bad at 2500 to 3800. Put stock mufflers back and am looking for something close to stock noise level but with increased hp (I also had HD 585 cams installed and mapp ).

welcome aboard glad you found us. Congrats on your new ride. Look and see if the cat has been removed on your stock exhaust header. That will make it sound a little louder. If you like the sound that way just have the trike given a good tune with your cams and enjoy the ride.

The new head pipe has no cat conv-I want more power without being loud. No such thing as to much get up and go. I am not looking to race but have always had very fast street rods, snowmobiles etc. Lots of mtns hear in northern az. I am looking into S & S quiet tour mufflers. Any info on mufflers would be greatly appreciated

Exhaust sound and noise is so subjective, quiet to one man is to loud for another. I've always found the Supertrapp disk mufflers with the closed end cap to be pretty quiet. You might look at these http://www.supertrapp.com/product_se...emID=728-78054 . The best thing is to hang out at a dealer or bike night and listen to different bikes or trikes running.

I just bought a 2011 triglide, and immediately change the headers to tru duals from Vance and Hines. Had to get rid of the cat, way to hot. Got it done and keep the stock Harley mufflers on it. Results are good no more burning heat and the low sound from the original mufflers is a touch louder but still pleasing to the ear. The big issue with the heat is gone and the bike actually runs a little better. Just my two cents. Enjoy the ride.

Have a 2016 triglide- changed to 585 cams-free flowing air cleaner-V & H header pipe -screaming eagle tuner (remapped)-tried V & H mufflers and could not ride from 2500 to 3200 weird pitch noise. I would like something not to loud. Have ordered super trapp from H D dealer. I hope this works. With stock mufflers I get a noise like a jackhammer.

Had Rush slip-ons on the '09, Reinhardt on the '11. Put CFR Megaphones on the '14 Tri and the '15 Freewheeler. WOW do those megaphones sound great!! A bit (well, a lot more than a bit) loud, just the way we like them.

I have those pipes run thru Rush head pipes. I like the sound...a bit louder than stock {which on the new trikes is actually not bad} but maybe a bit deeper.

Jackpot Classic mufflers have returned for ONLY $199 in Slash down and Slash up & feature 2.0" baffles. Optional 1.75" and 2.5" baffles are available. Fit FLH models 1995-2016, the Slash down mufflers work really well on Tri Glide's as they offer plenty of ground clearance. Great sound & performance at a price that cant be beat! 100% made in the USA.

Angry Afetrmarket Exhaust on new Tri-Glide

I put the SE Street Cannons 4" mufflers on my '14 tri-glide and that's all I did to the machine. Sound is really sweet when you accelerate, and just a deep rumble when crusing. I love it and it works for me.

When I went to the Triglide the exhaust was one of the first changes I was going to do but once I heard the sound of the stock exhaust I was very pleased with it. I had to get my wife to “blip” the throttle several times while I stood in back of it to make sure that it sounded like a Harley, and it did!! Another benefit is I can really hear the new radio and don’t have to blast it to hear it! I’ve also had several people ask me what kind of exhaust I have on it and I say stock and they can’t believe it. If I was you I would put your money into some accessories and wait until later….
Since my 1st Harley back in the early 80's. I'd buy pipes and then have a friend of mine ride it pass me or around the block SO I can hear what it sounds like. I never bought pipes just to make noise. I'm an old drag racer and I like a NICE DEEP tone to my stuff. Only one's I ever bought and never cared what anyone thought of them being to loud or not was from a HD dealer in Washington. They called the BOOM CAN'S. With my last two bikes and head work and cam's and carb work to them. Those BOOM CAN"S made my Harley sound like a small block Chevy !. Had a friend alway complain about themwhen I started that bad boy up. But when I told him I was selling it. HE WANTED THEM PIPES ! . He bought them and I put his on mine. He still has them to this day. lol
