I'm trying to find a license plate frame to fit a 2013 TG. Have been told they don't make one ??? I don't get it, whats the difference from a regular HD frame for a Road King or other HD bikes ??

Very interesting - we have 2010 H.D. trikes and have replaced our frames with 2 different ones (both from
H.D.).......... I do not know of any differences in the
trunk area on model years 2009 -2013 ......don't know about the 14's. Have you checked with your local stealer AND the Big Book?
I must be misunderstanding. Ditto both of above, had a couple of license plate frames on both our '09 and '13 and never had a problem.

make 1 yourself or have 1 made then you can have it powdercoated any almost any color you might like in place of chrome. If you are'nt familiar with powdercoating you will want to check it out. You can coat any surface that won't melt at 450 degrees,

I have a 2013 TG also. I bought a regular HD license plate frame. It fits perfect.
Most auto parts stores, Walmart and indie motorcycle shops should have a variety of plate frames from basic chrome at less than $10 to ones with built in running/brake/turn LED lights in them. Most aren't much bigger than a standard plate and I can't see why they wouldn't fit. I would think that any from HD would also fit unless the MoFoCo has a special frame for the Tri-Glide (at the premium price, of course) that is larger than the plate recess for your year.
*RANT (slightly)* I have a 24 year old FLHS. Parts can be had, takes some digging sometimes, but a lot of things fit that the cataloge says won't. Harley is good at saying a part won't fit when it will, they just change the design a bit for the current models and say the part isn't for older bikes. The kid behind the computer at the parts counter only knows what the P & A cataloge says - try to get the old guy that rides the Shovel out in the lot - he knows what will interchange. I also try to go to the independant shops that focus on the motorcycles and parts for the bikes. Last time I was at the Harley shop in my area there was a display of rainsuits for dogs more prominently displayed than motorcycles. *rant off*

Are you talking about a frame to bolt the plate to or the cover/edge frame that bolts on top and covers the edges of the plate???
I have a USMC license frame that I've had on all my bikes since my first Yamaha in 1967 - it fit fine on all 13 or so bikes I've owned since then.
I think maybe I'm still not understanding the question.
By the way that lip on the bottom bracket is adjustable. I took it completely off mine and just run with the top bolts to hold the plate and frame in. If you take the whole thing off you will see that the bottom bracket is slotted. Either move it to fit or if it is in the way take it off. I finally figured out what you were saying. More than likely it will be in the way.

I have a 2013 TG bought new and came w/the dealer's HD frame as I suspect most do.
I removed it and bought a MIA/POW, Not Forgotten motorcycle lic frame at the PX and put
it on. just had to adjust the holder hd holder is not a problem. frame has top/bottom holes. I used lic plate screws to attach the bottom of the plate to the holder as well. frame fits perfectly.
the hd lic holder on the trunk door is adjustable up/down to accommodate foreign license plates.
I don't understand why you are having difficulty w/this...
