Well, I've been "lurking" around here as a guest for a while now and it's time to introduce myself. I'm Steve and I'm interested in trikes. Well, let me put it this way, I'm being forced to be interested in trikes. I'm 68, I've been riding motorcycles for 50 years (I guess I'm an addict by now), and the doctors have just told me I have to stop. I have bone cancer and it's weakening then bones in my left leg. They're afraid that if the bike starts to tip at a stop sign, I'll try to hold it and break one of the bones.
I ride into Canada and down South every year for up to 2 weeks at a time with the same group of guys and there's no way in **** that I'm going to trail along in a car. A trike maybe, but a car - never. So now I'm in the market for a trike. I wish I could find one that tilts, but baring that, I want the best handling, most agile trike I can find. It needs to replace my BMW's and to be able to keep up in the twisty sections with a decent group of riders.
Right now, I'm just hanging around and reading conversations trying to decide just what it is I want. I'm leaning toward a CAN-AM ST Limited as a cost efficient "starter" trike, but that's still just one possibility. What ever it is, I have to decide fairly soon, the first trip starts June 21'st.
So, thanks for all the great conversations I've been privileged to listen in on and I have to say that I've been impressed with the level of "civility" you've pro ported yourselves with in the discussions. Thanks for that, it's made the reading much more pleasant and informative. So now I'll go back to reading.
Steve
