Has anyone had a problem with opening hood, to find out that the light assy. Is resting on the front tire?

I had that issue once and got some "Felt Pads", that are used under table/chair legs etc. Stick 2-3 together and then stick them on the metal piece where the hood latch meets, when the hood is being raised.Has anyone had a problem with opening hood, to find out that the light assy.
