Personally i would go with roadsmith because of the years they have been doing it and the ride because of the length.
Champion is a great product i have one but it is a new product and more than likely has bugs to be worked out. But thats my opinion.

I have the Champion Solid Axel and love it.
As for the IRS, my dealer said they still have a few bugs to work out on it. Some of the suspension bolts are to small and snapping and the bushings need to be made better.
I went with the IRS becasue I wanted the best ride. It is extreemly smooth and stable. I haven't had a problem with anything breaking but I still have a vibration I can't seem to solve. I also found Champion is not as easy to work with as they should be. All that said I love my trike and the IRS.
I am currently riding a 2010 Goldwing with Champion IRS. I previously had a 2006 with Champion solid axle. There is a difference in the ride. The IRS is smoother on rough road and reduces the handlebar jerk when you encounter a rough area in a turns. It reduces it, but does not eliminate it. I put 53K on the solid axle and have 15K on the IRS and like it much better. Both bikes have the 4 1/2 degree easysteer.

Are there any idividuals on this forum who have had issues with the Champion IRS on a GL1800, such as severe tire wear (8000 miles or less). Any extreme toe-out issues or negative camber. If so, what was the mfg. date of the kit?
