Aluma TK1 Trike trailer

I will check on the tire carrier kit. The only one I saw at the dealer mounted on the right side behind where the frame starts it's v to the tongue. I have seen post from guys that said it throws up a lot of water on the side of the trike when mounted that way. I had rather have it up front also. I will check their web site and see if I just missed the front tire mount. I will also check with the local dealer about the stabilizer legs. Should be an easy job for a good aluminum welder. Thanks for the help and ideas.

Aluma makes a "bolt-on" frame mounted spare tire kit that sits in front of the tool box. No additional bracing is required.

The stabilizer legs option are an Aluma product that I had added at the factory during the trailer build. The leg supports are welded directly to the frame. The stabilzer leg option was about $60, two years ago.

If you take your trailer to an authorized Aluma dealer, you may be able to order the legs and have the dealer weld them in place.

Obviously from the pictures, both solidbob and mpolissky have mounted a spare on the front of the tool box area. I spoke with Alumaklm on the phone this morning. According to them they do not make a spare mount that will mount on the front of the box. I am enclosing a link to the page that shows their spare mounts etc. Now we all know they are not going to tell you how to modify a mount to make it work, but I guess it can be done. I would like to know how some of the people on this thread did theirs, and which mount they actually used. Maybe the dealer installed them? Also, they told me the 7800 model stabilizer legs were $52.00. The mount for these legs do have to be welded on, and I assume the leg can not be totally removed without tilting the trailer over enough to slide the leg out from the bottom? I also have the spare tire bracket mounted in the front of the tool box.

This was a dealer installed item using Aluma part # 44069 at the time (9/2016).

I do not know if Aluma has currently changed the design of this tire mount from the front to the side.

The leg of the stabilzer can only be removed by jacking up the trailer. I just raise the stabilizers to their highest locked position. I attach a small bungie cord on the leg to keep it from rattling while trailering. The legs really do not get in the way of anything.
