Harbor Freight Cargo Trailer

Does anyone own a Harbor Freight cargo trailer, and can you tell me what's the good, bad and ugly about it?

I've got the little 40 x 49 model. There's not much to dislike about it.

Assembly is required, I added 18" to the tongue so I could add an ice chest, relubing the wheel bearings with quality grease is a must on assembly, those chinese folks used what resembled Vaseline. I also removed all but one leaf spring, to soften the ride... I never load heavy when pulling with a bike anyway.

The small 8" tires are a drawback for some, but I never had a problem. Only ran 20psi to make it ride smoother.

For the $, they can't be beat, IMO.

I just the other day, purchased one of the Tag-along trailers for use with the trike. It appears to be the same quality, tho I have yet to assemble it, or add my paint & lights.

A friend had one for a while and had to replace a wheel bearing kit (bearings,races and seal) and found that they were not the standard 1" axle size used on small trailers that auto parts stores carry.He had to order through Harbor Frieght and it took a long while to get.
That was a couple years ago and since may have changed to the common bearings.
Thats the only thing I ever heard about them.

Would you please list them? Since I now have two of these trailers that use the small wheels, the info will probably come in handy. As in I'd probably buy a spare set to have on hand. (That way I insure I'll never need them! LOL)

The bearings and seal numbers would be much appreciated.....I just don't have a lot of confidence in the one that came with it!!!!

Ok,
I promised this a long time ago and Im sorry it took so long.
Here is the part number for the harbor freight trailer (8in wheels) bearings, PLUS something added that i just found out about.
The Timken number is L44643
The Seal part number is:
Manufacturer SKF - Part number:12165, Note: this bearing has the deeper walls. I like this..more metal.

Ok not for the big reveal.
These bearings come in a kit from timken. and it is available from AutoZone, and Orilleys.
It has:
2 L44643 bearings
2 Races
1 inner seal
1 cotter pin
and a tube of totally useless grease
All for about $26.00

there are 2 models of this kit
the BT-101 & the BT-100
the difference in the kits is that one has the deeper walled seal, one has a shallower depth but both would could work
