Have question on V8 rear end set up

I bought a set of blue prints for a v8 trike and wondering what the best way to go for a rear is. I want a comfortable ride so def don't want it to be ridgid. Is solid axle or independent rear the cheaper and better way to go and does anyone have any pics of how they mounted there rear end as the pics I have in the plans show both a swing arm style setup and a leaf style setup. Thanks for any information and help.

Ok I've decided to go with a Jag IRS system. can anyone tell me if i can direct mount it to the transmission or should i run a short drive shaft thanks.

Also what size tubing and type should i use for the frame thanks

I am using 1&1/2 inch dom with .120 wall for most of my trike... I am building rear engine with gm v6 supercharged engine and 4t65e trans./ axle ,,, I am using 2x2x1/8 wall square tubing to build cage for drive train, gas tank, etc. I could have used round for all but chose this as I'm using the sub frame(jag used similar set up) that cradles drive train and using dorman isolation mounts from it to trike frame slick set up.. just seemed easier to me as I need to fab upper mounts for struts too. I guess we will see I will start frame next week!!
there are many on forum that can give you some solid advice on trike builds..

you really should put in a short drive shaft ... ie two universals.. otherwise the trans and rear need to be dead nuts.... with no flex at all not doubting your ability but its darn near impossible...(yes there are those that have done it) you dont want the trans and rear dead nuts in line with the 2 universals... the shafts should be parallel but not in line... so the needles in the universal
have a chance to roll... there is a degree they should be off not sure what it is

ideally the shafts are parallel but offset like ____ ---------- best i could right here ... so the universals are exactly the same angle...

Thank you for the info it was exactly what I was looking for. So between now and December I'm going to start gathering supplies so that when I get back to the states I can start and get it done in time for summer. (Donations are always welcome lol, Joking) Thanks for all of the expert advice and opinions.
