Who Owns a Bushtec Trailer?

Anyone know how much extra trouble it is to remove the tires off the wheels of a Bushtec? I've been thinking about having the wheels polished and powdercoating the top rack & rear bumper. Another question I have is does anyone know for sure if the Taillights are oem H-D? Have seen a pair of chrome taillight covers/shrouds on a Bushtec trailer online that I really liked.

I just 3 wks ago sold my 2009 Roadstar that looked just like yours luggage rack and all. Fellow here in Amarillo just had to have it. Wheels are no problem at all to remove. Remove that very expensive ($55) hub cap and undo the nut. As far as the tail lights they are old Harley OEM lenses. I was going to put new lenses, without the clear tag light lense but found it was a major undertaking. Still have all the hardware to do it but now the trailer is gone. One thing I did do was black out the lense with Plasti-Dip. Looked great. Enjoy the trailer. Ever need an additional pin hitch I have a brand new one I never used. 8~\o

What's the trick to getting the hub cap off the wheels? Do they have a set screw holding it on?

bushtec trailer

I have a bushtec trailer, can some one tell me if you can purchase only the top of a bushtec trailer, I would like to purchase a top like the one you can ride your dog in?
Thanks

Yep, they make a lid for just that purpose or I've seen them listed on eBay.

BUT let me bend your ear here a little on this subject. I have a 8 yr old 140# male Rottweiler that would love to go with me. He use to ride in my side car all the time and loved it. After removing the side car he was in panic mode every time I cranked the bike....but no place for him to ride, sorry big boy. Then I bought the BushTec Roadstar and had the very same thoughts of getting an extra lid, cutting a hole in it and making him a cockpit to go with me. THEN a vet friend of mine reminded me of something. A dogs hearing is 12-15 times greater than a humans and their smell upward from 1,000 to 10,000,000 times better than humans. Now you put your best friend back behind your bike with loud exhaust and exhaust fumes......I'll let you think about this a little.

Bushtec trailer tires

After reading the questions and answers on this thread I am thinking of buying a Bushtec Quantum GT. I have a question when it is time to replace the tires can they be replaced with proper sized MC tires or do you have buy special tires from Bushtec?

I am going to buy tires from Bushtec. They are $69/each.

Thanks for the information sounds like the Bushtec tires are very reasonable in price. Are you getting their 6 ply run flat tires at that price? Where will you take your wheels to have the tires mounted?
papalarry

I talked to Bushtec last week. IIRC,they told me their tires are four ply run-flats,not six.
Will let my local m/c shop remove & replace the tires and tubes.

Roadstar internal dementions

Anyone out there that has a Bushtec Roadstar could you give me the interior inside detentions between the wheel wells and the shock towers. I am wanting to know if my lawn chairs that measure 38L X 20 1/4W will lay flat on the bottom of the trailer? <img src="images/smilies/cool.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Cool" class="inlineimg" />

</div>If you don't have the optional spare tire kit, they will lay completely flat. If you do,one end will sit a few inches higher.

</div>Thank you for the quick reply. My question was what is the internal dimensions between the wheel/shock towers. I have tried to lay my lawn chairs flat in a couple of buddies different trailers and they were just about 1/2 in to narrow. Without having a Bushtec Roadstar available to measure I am hesitant to buy a new Bushtec Roadstar.

</div>The narrowest point inside is between the shock towers, Larry. That is distance is 22".

Your measurement is what I needed. In my first question I should have said I have a piece of plywood that is 201/4" wide and 38" long I want to lay it flat in the bottom of the trailer. The lawn chairs I have fold-up and lay flat like like the piece of plywood. My lawn chairs are not the kind you put into a bag.

I have the Turbo +2 and want have it repainted. Does anyone got an idea of cost?

What color is your trailer now and what color are you wanting to change it to?

The only painter I've talked to,quoted me around $1,000 to paint our Roadstar GT,to match our trike.

The bushtec Turbo is the white they offer. I am wanting the 2014 Harley black. I was thinking of taking the shell off of the frame and haul it into a paint shop. Less for them to do.

Modifying Turbo+2 to a Tow-Tow...?

Just wondered who besides me owns a Bushtec trailer. Heres a pic of the BushTec Turbo I setup for my Girl lobo...Works Great and she Loves it!

———What did you do to modify your Turbo+2 to a Tow-Tow...? I just purchased a 2012 Turbo+2 in Saskatchewan (picking up next month) and want to modify it to take my dawg touring with me. Also, is there a market for the Turbo+2 Lid withchrome rack and garment bag...? Thank you
