Try to give it until you have 2,000 miles on it and see if there is any improvement. Your engine is actually still breaking in. With the 14's being so new I would be hesitant to make many changes that could impact the warranty.

According to the Harley dealer that is replacing my exhaust, the removal of the cat and installing the other related stuff doesn't void my warranty. Thank you for your help.

Maybe in your dealers eyes.... But removing that stuff is considered tampering with emissions controls.. Just saying...

Do you have that in writing? While it may be true in your Dealers eyes, consider this....if you have a catastrophic failure away from home and go to a local Dealer for warranty, work, they can, and may, deny coverage due to any changes you've made. In addition, if they then notify Harley, it could totally void your warranty, even at your local Dealer, unless they cover it locally.

All it takes is something large enough to go wrong that it requires a visit from the district rep and it could be game over. The small things the local dealer can repair without question, the big stuff at times can require the rep to see it 1st hand. These folks don't have anyone's interest in mind except Harley Davidson's.

Then you have the wild card of the dealer 1,000 miles from home who has a straight laced service manager playing a game of CYA because his techs suck at trouble shooting. This wild card will tattle to mommy that customer fiddled with his toy and caused it to break.

One thing I've learned over the years is not many dealers understand the warranty very well. Some want to please the customer, or take his or her money, but in doing so they can also set the customer up for grief.

I had an issue with my tour pac back in 2003. There was a crack in the lip by the latch and the paint was cracking. Well everyone knows paint isn't covered in the warranty. The service writer, salesman, service manager, parts manager, general manager and a part owner all agreed it was the fiberglass that was the fault and should be covered. All this time H-D corporate said it was a paint issue.
Finally the district rep came to see it and said it looks like everyone was right - it's the fiberglass's fault. A week later we got the results = IT WAS A PAINT ISSUE AND IS NOT COVERED.
At the time I had the bike in to get a 6 speed put in. I told the dealer to forget about it. A couple days later the dealer called me and said they were going to replace the tour pac. Not sure if they were eating the cost or not - I didn't care. I think they didn't want to lose all that service/pats money.
So get it in writing what the dealer will abide by. If that even makes any differnce. Good Luck

TOTALLY agree - your local dealer will be the/could be the breaking point - if he is a GOOD one he will normaly take care
of his customers - while out on the road you sometimes face a
grap shoot, fortunately I have a good one and he likes to take
of his good customers.
I am very lucky to live in the vicinity of several dealers so I have the option of WHERE I want to spend those hard earned retirement $'s.
RIDE SAFE ALL AND ENJOY THIS UP-COMING SUMMER!!

Not sure if they still do, but dealers get what is called customer satisfaction moneys they can use for replacing certain items. I'm betting your dealer dug into that kitty to make you happy.

I have a 13 TG and my trouble started leaving Sturgis where I live and bought it but work in Seattle Wa. Left with trike me short I needed to be back in short time so hurried. when I got to Spokane I was burning up both days (over 95 degrees). Blistered my right leg(no Chaps) I've spoke to the HD hear and a very good Mech. They say new A/C, pipes, and a Tuner to the tune of 2 bills plus. with not a lot of a sure cure. I found a fan system Love Juggs' fan sounds interesting but will see. Good Luck with the 14.

Whatever fans you put on will all blow the hot air out the right side more than original. It does help with the engine temps, but that heat has to go somewhere.
One of the best cures for leg heat is to get your leg out of the heat ! In other words, put on highway foot pegs.

Also you can put foot board extenders on that help a lot.
Also the pipes & muffs will help some. Be sure to have it tuned if you do the pipes & air cleaner. Otherwise you will be running lean. The best for this is either the TTS or Power Vision flash tuners. They both do a great job of a complete tune.
Also a fan cooled oil cooler will help keep the oil cooled down. Jagg is one of the best. But you can also buy a pair of fans for the OEM cooler.
Cool Re: 2014 HD Tri Glide Heat

when i first got the 2014, it was HOT! did a screaming Eagle stage one, air Cleaner, tune and vance and hines true duals. knocked the heat down pretty good.
then i installed the Nightrider Xied with attached tuner. what a differance!
Set it to 13.9 bike runs great and much ,much cooler.
it was 90 degrees with high humidity yesterday here, and the heat was very managable, not bad at all.
i have not had any issue's with the water cooling system.
bike runs great. use it for commutting and ride every day

As others have said .... put mileage on it! New it's damn tight and makes a lot of heat. Everyone panics at this time. My 2014 (stock exhaust) has almost 4K miles and my heat panic is over and runs cooler each ride. I stay out of traffic.

I'm goona bet it doesn't run cooler , Its just that you learned to tolerate it....[use to it]

HI, try using DEi exhaust wrap under your heat shields, you will not notice it. Follow directions and use the adhesive spray coating they sell. To do a proper job you have to remove the header. This helps with the exhaust heat and also your engine will perform better. Your Warranty will not be affected. It worked on my 2010 FLHXXX Street Glide Trike. When the bike was new I MELTED a LeNale Engineering Fan, the back of the fan completely melted and it was installed on the horn bracket and I moved the horn as per instructions.
