I have tried every trick that I can think of to stop that splash back but now have to wonder if that may be a venting problem?? Is this a common occurrence w/ the HTS 1800 Kit? A very good Friend also had an 08 GL1800 w/ the HT100Kit, he did not have that problem when re-filling his Aux Tank. Any info and or guidance will be greatly appreciated. THX and looking forward to hearing from you

Hey Hutch - sorry it took a day or so to respond. If you have already talked with Zook, he's probably got this all squared away (knowing him!!). If you haven't talked with Zook, there are two things to look at that could cause what you are experiencing. One is a pinched vent hose, and the other is changing the way you fill. Easiest to talk you through these if you could give a call at 800-331-0705.

    Thanks! Jim

    Hello Doug,

I just converted my 2010 Goldwing to a Roadsmith trike............love it/first and only time riding on 3

Ok my question: I'm reading that the driveshaft, does not need to be grease'd and it's a sealed unit....Well just before putting her away for the winter season, I jacked it up and found 2 or 3 grease zirks on the shaft, and put a grease gun to it , squirting one/maybe two pumps in each zirk.....Did the builder put an older conversion unit on my bike instead of a new model?? If it is suppose be a sealed unit, then why the gease zirks?? I've ridden it maybe 4,000'ish miles this season before winter storage time...I also would love an owners hard cover manual, if available still.............Thank you very much!

This question has been kicked around for a while. Last I heard, the zerks are there for show I suppose, the joints are sealed, no need for lube unless you want to 'feel good' and give them a squirt. I do that gently every 20K miles or so, no harsh forcing, could damage the seal. Anyway, right or wrong that's my take.

Denny - do you know which body style you have? If not, send a pic and I'll let you know what we can do. You can post to the forum, or shoot me an email at jim@roadsmithtrikes.com.

Thanks Zook - unfortunately, it's not easy to do the skirts on the HSC body. Denny - if you are super serious, give me a call direct at 800-331-0705 and we can talk through some possibilities.

Guess there have been no questions for Road Smith, last post on the RS thread was four months ago. Come on folks, does anyone ride Road Smiths and have questions, guess that includes me. Maybe they have discovered an easy way go change rear diff oil, and why oh why did they close the Daytona Beach shop, big mistake. Another biz decision I suppose, the founder retired, then the Anne the daughter, nobody to run the shop. But come on folks, that was the original RS shop, that means something. OK, all done.

Yep, still looking on the forum. My Roadsmith is in the shop with a no power situation. Lots of battery and has 3-4 volts running thru ground on metal on the bike when just sitting with key off. And it's always riding season in South Florida. Hope the issues are resolved soon!

Those electrical probs are no fun at all, difficult to trouble shoot especially for a person that has no idea where to start. A volt/ohm meter is a help, but even then, some background is required. You might give a post over on the 'gl1800riders' forum. There a lot of 'eyes' there and some good tech folks. Dealers have a way of not being real interested in electrical problems.

    Bill,

Rossmeyer's Harley Davidson at Destination Daytona is one of Roadsmith's biggest and best dealers so they are still well represented in that market and they have multiple dealers in the area and all over Florida that convert the Honda, Harley and Indian lines, so closing the Daytona shop probably just makes good business sense for them since Dick has retired. Finding managers and staff that will run your business like you would is difficult if not impossible. It sounds like a smart business move to me.

Zook, that puts the Daytona Beach closing in much better perspective, thanks for the insight. So I'm guessing that RS is still doing many of the Harley conversions for Rossmeyers Destination Daytona. With HD doing their factory trikes, I would think that would chisel into the RS business. I also suspect there's still someone in the Daytona area doing the RS conversion for Rossmeyer's, Daytona. Thanks again for taking the time.

Default Only one shot at it...

I'm only good for one down & up off the floor, so could someone please tell me how to adjust the "park brake", and what tool is required.. I've checked the owners (online) manual and find no mention of it...

I have logged about 200 miles so far, and trying really hard to enjoy this new experience, but not there yet... Wife really likes it .

Default RS Service Near Fredericksburg, VA ? ? ?

    Good morning RS (all),

I will be picking up my new-to-me '07 GL1800 with a new HTS1800 Trike Conversion this coming Friday, 20 July 2018. Since I am from Fredericksburg, VA, it is likely that I won't be back to see Kevin for service (except maybe for a visit if I'm ever within a 100 miles or so). I can't seem to locate any Roadsmith builders or full service shops in my part of VA. Where is the nearest to Fredericksburg, VA, Roadsmith Service Center, or recommended independent shop?

I look forward to many miles of smiles with the Roadsmith Trike.

    Thanx in advance,

    Dave Calahan

Hey Bill - sorry I didn't notice your post earlier. Zook is right about Destination being a great place to buy a Roadsmith. They sell the Roadsmith against the TriGlide as as a premium product, as the trikes they carry from us are all super high-end units, installed on some of HD most expensive motorcycles.

We replaced our Daytona store with All Out Powersports. They are located literally across the parking lot from our old store on Beach St. The people there are fantastic - good sales people and even better techs. We have enjoyed working with them. And of course, Dick is enjoying his retirement!!
