Finally got the wife out on the new trike. It took me a couple hundred miles to feel confident enough to ride two up, many years riding two wheels and the trike was a whole new experience, but am learning to love it.

I can't leave without the S/O. If the trike it rolling she is on it. We love our trike. We put about 10,000 miles a year on it. Hope to put a lot more in a few years when I retire. Can't wait!!!

Yep, that "extra wheel", makes 2-up much simpler, and a confidence booster for Your Passenger.....continue to Enjoy and Practice.....

We purchased our trike Sep. '13 and really haven't found where time and opportunity coincides. Reckon we're "fair weather" riders. Looking forward to some 10,000 mile years.

My wife liked to ride when we had the 2 wheeler Goldwing.
Only thing that bothered her was the wind pushing it around on trips out west.
Now that we have the trike, no more problems, she loves it!!
Yep, nothing builds "Passenger Confidence" like a TRIKE.....

had to ride on gravel this week end for the first time. I worry about rock chips but the ride was fine. Ran into rain on the ride (on pavement) No problem . ride is so much better than a 2 wheeler. Got wet but no worries about falling down.
there are a few + sides to the xtra wheel.
Pappabear I am extremely happy that you and your wife are both enjoying the beautiful Honda experience. It's always so much better when she can enjoy it with you.
My wife rode with me on two wheels and would absolutely fall asleep on the back of our Goldwings. Strangely enough, on the trike she just sits back in comfort and enjoys the view but never sleeps. Maybe she was just too tired to ride back then but wanted to go anyway. I'll ask her the next time I feel like a good whoopin'
... Made the journey (from 2 to 3 wheels) now enjoying the ride ...

Just the-opposite for me, she has slept through NH on the way to Maine. Only problem is the back of my helmet is getting all chipped from turtle Kisses. Rode ok on the 2 wheel wing. I was nervous, got the Voyager for it. She stopped riding with me. Said it scared her. Leaning was creepy. Got the New DFT and now rides about 60% of the time the wing leaves the garage,

I was wondering about the rain and wind on a trike. I was told that if the trike is raked it is a little squirly, is this correct?

I've only ridden one trike and in the past year I've ridden 20,000 miles. My trike has a 6 degree rake and it steers and rides like my Caddy! I've ridden it all day in Texas last March in 50 mph winds and many times in heavy rain with wind gusts. I feel gusts impact me less on the trike than it did on two wheels and it's sure footed like a mountain goat in rain. Truly, neither wind and/or rain is an issue!

You dont stop riding because you're getting old. You get old cause you stopped riding
Hi. I triked my Wing as it was the only way my wife could ride with me anymore. I had it raked 6 degrees and it's like power steering. I love it. The only thing about a 6 degree rake is that it's verrry sensitive and takes a little getting used to. Once I got the feel of it, I wouldn't have it any other way. Some like the 4 degree of rake better. I have nothing to compare to so I cannot comment on the 4 degree. We've been thru both rain and wind with it and it performed very well. However, anytime you're in those kinds of weather conditions, it takes a real steady hand with either with regular bike or a trike. The trike performs equal to, or better than, the bike under those conditions, IMHO.
I really enjoy the relaxed comfort of two up on my Trike... After 45 years on two wheels it took me a couple thousand miles to really start enjoying the Trike and now I would not consider going back on two wheels. My wife agrees, really enjoyable.
