Glad Everyone fared well, including the snake I assume........yep, Never too many Tools with You out on the road.....
The wife, myself, one son, two grandsons. Out of DFW to Mount Scott in Oklahoma and back - about 500 miles. Wasn't supposed to rain, but the weather people got it wrong again, so the wife was duly Baptised in several downpours we rode through. Luckily we always have our rain gear with us. Heading for the mountain the son signals for a serious slow down to allow a snake to clear the road, his son fails to see the signal, is following too close, and rams my son's bike. Grandson dumps his bike on the left side and proceeds to fall on the snake - never seen someone jump straight up from a backside prone position before, but he did. Best thing was neither one was hurt and the bikes only had broken plastic and bent metal. Insurance should cover all needed repairs.
Interesting rock formation the likes of which I have never seen before, like someone just piled the rocks up until there was a mountain.
One other thing - adding some items to my on board tool kit as a result of the accident: channel lock pliers, vice-grip pliers, duct tape, electrical tape, zip ties.

Family outings for you are the foundation for much story telling in the future.
Glad that only a little pride might have been hurt. And the snake survives
Duct tape will hold a lot of plastic in place - but more matching colours are needed so it doesn't stand out so much as the bike gets nursed back to home base!
Glad everyone is OK! Scary stuff especially about the dang snake!
I used to live in North Texas and we went to Mt. Scott often.
Loved it.
Once we were there and off in the distance we could see artillery practice going on from Fort Sill.
It's a great motorcycle trip.
