Lowers sliding vents....A way to hold them in place

I'm looking for a quick and easy fix to the 2012 lowers vent sliders that will not stay open. I have tried a dab of Silicone caulk on each one where they slide in the lowers storage box but they vibrate lose after two tries and doubling the caulk bead.. I want a fix that is not easily seen and can be easily removed in colder weather.
Anything simple? ( like the strip of velcro parking brake :>)

Take a large paperclip and slide it in the sliders bottom opening to hold it to the lowers .' [lower hole of the three holes] ;; Hope i'm explaining right.? You can get paperclips in colors to match ...

If you haven't already, when you take the door off you should see a nut. You can snug this nut up which will make them stay.

I did this and tightened several turns. as much as I figured safe before I snapped it off!. it did make them tighter but long run over 100 miles they jiggle right back over.
The dabs of Silicone Caulk on them didn't work either.
I guess I'll try a version of the paperclip thing?
