Default *waves* Hi there from Razorback Country

I am working on my 2nd and 3rd trike after I got bit by the bug on a 1974 Rupp Centaur with a 340cc snowmobile engine. I will try to keep my questions on this side of dumb, but there is no promise
The wire wheel is the 74 Rupp and the spoked wheel is a 1600dp built in 75/6
I just picked up an 84 GL1200 that I plan on triking...pictures are too large for the moment

They are very cool. Saw my first one 10 years ago at a bike cruise night. Is that a before and after picture? If you do decide to do the 1984 Wing. Be sure to sort out the stator problem 1st. A lot easier while it is a 2 wheeler. If it has more than 65,000 on it the Stator can go any time. There are multi cures for it.post often stay in touch. No dumb questions on here
When I am gona fix something I will fix it. You don't have to bug me every 6 months.

Wayne, Welcome to TT from your fellow Texas members!!! I thought I recognized Harrison AR. I rode through there this past June while TT/TOI 7 was going on in Eureka Springs. We'll be back next year. Hope you have that '84 ready to show off then!! You have quite a collection there...

OH, and as already mentioned. No Dumb Questions....... Just ones I probably don't have answers to..

There is a gob of experience here and our members are always willing to share. We hope you also pass on your stories and knowledge. TrikeTalk is by far the best trike focused bulletin board and you’ll find the members and admin folks the friendliest there are.

When you get settled in, check out Trike Owners International, T.O.I., you may find it a good fit.

    Again, WELCOME !!!

Hello Wayne and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. I at one time owned 2 Honda Gold Wings, One was a 1200 the other a 1500. My son wanted me to let him have the 1200 and he had never thrown his leg over a saddle. I told him he would have to spend several years starting with a small bike, working up to the 1200. And I see that is what you are doing, and I commend you for that whether you are doing it on purpose or not. As was said already, the 1200 did have some problems that are well known and fairly easy to repair ahead of time before they become major headaches. Good luck, ride safe.

My first bike I actually owned was an xr185 that I blew down the back roads on. I bought many bikes since then and ride a 650 VStar most of the year. Having said that, the missus is a person of height impairment and after several attempts at lowering a bike I bought the first 340cc Rupp. She loved it, but not enough and she let me sell it to a museum in St Louis. A few months later she regretted me selling it and asked me to find another that was not museum-quality. That is where the second 1600cc Rupp came into play.

I had a friend who was doing the engine install and he asked if I would be interested in a Wing again. He knew I had two 81 Silverwings and an 81 1100 through my garage and since the price was better than right, I couldn't pass.

The reason I never kept the wings is they felt top-heavy and since I ride these second best roads I never really felt comfortable. http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/no...ycle-rides.htm

This time I'm going to trike this one so the missus and I can ride together
