Aux fuel tank mod complete......read on.

I finally got me fuel tank vent mod on my 06 GL 1800 with a 2012 Roadsmith conversion and aux tank and thought I’d let you all know how things went.<o></o
First off what I did was to pull the top shelter off and thegas tray under the shelter. There I found the “T” in the vent line venting theback and front tanks into the charcoal canister. I took the “T” out and pulledthe vent line off the front fuel tank and put the tank vent from the back tankdirectly into the front tank vent, which eliminated the canister. <o></o
Then I put a “T” in the main fuel tank vent on the aux tank.There is a larger vent hose that goes from the top of the tank to the left sideof the tank in the fill line. So I put a T in that line making adjustments becauseI put a 3/16^th inch ID line from the 3/8^th line from thetop to the fill tube on the aux tank. I had to “jerry rig” the T from the largeline to the small line. So if you decide to take on this little project beprepared to use your imagination, you’ll do all right. I bought a smalluniversal T that I trimmed to fit the hoses.<o></o
Now with the 3/16^th hose going from the inlinecoupling that was already installed on the original factory tank vent. I bought10 feet and used about 6 feet of 3/16^th in hose. This will keep thecanister in use as well as the vacuum recirculation from the fuel tank to thethrottle body. If that doesn’t make sense it will if you decide to do this mod.If you have removed your canister you won’t need to do this part. <o></o
Anyway that’s all there is to this mod. Now I know you likepics but the only thing to take a pic of was the top on the tank and showingthe hose from the back tank to the front. If you want to see pics use your imagination. <o></o
I took it for a 150 mile ride and had no problems and filledthe front tank from the aux tank. I filled the front tank knowing that it wouldvent into the back tank which it did as I hoped it would. I took the fuel capoff the aux tank and watched the fuel pump into the back tank.
Here is a pic of the stock tank and vent. Basically you are taking the vent line shown in the picture to the back tank and plugging the back tank vent into the location that the vent line was plugged into, .
