    Default Arrived today: lift brackets

Installed Lift Brackets today, instructions we're great. Hardest part was jacking Tri up and placing Jack stands. Everything I own is mostly for small to med. Trucks. I think if I'm going to keep doing my own repairs I'll need a motorcycle jack. What do you use!

I use a floor jack and jack stands also. A lift seems to have my name on it sometime soon. Too old for this "on the floor" stuff.

My jack stands were too large also, ended up using a floor jack and then slid hydraulic jacks under to do mine.

    Lift looks good doesn't it?

After watching lift comparison on youtube, I bought the J&S trike lift. Received it last week. First impression - DAMN it's heavy. Wife and I dragged it out to the garage. Assembled OK. Works great. The only thing I had to do was loosen and rotate exhaust clamp under the frame. It's a tight fit, but once you get it located it does what it's suppose to do.

I just received my J&S as well and it works great. I Thought I was going the have to change the position of that clamp but I just moved the jack a little to the left and worked great.

Gary, If you want to talk about heavy, the Titan 1500XLT Lift Table is heavy, but it makes working on my TG & FXSTS so easy. Just ride on and hit the button on the air valve and up & away it goes. What a great tool, if you have room for a trike, you have room for a lift table. I know the lift table cost a few more $$$, but if I had to work off the floor I would never get anything done and you can just do so much more with it.

I have the J&S lift and love it. I can do the lift kits in about 45 minutes with the lift. The other lift the guy suggested are great for working on the trike but I like the J&S lift because I store my trike on this in the winter keeping the tires off the ground and I have no flat spots in the spring time. Also it is a great way to clean the trike. I lift it up, remove the jack handle and lay it down and then I have a roller stool and can work around the trike and clean it. Also when I store the trike for winter after it is up in the air I can roll the trike back into a corner of the garage out of the way.

I'm ready to purchase the Trike Jack from J&S Lift, the only thing stopping me is the price of shipping, if I have to pay it then I will, but I e mailed J&S a few days ago asking if there are any dealer's in my area, but I haven't heard anything as of today. Did you purchase yours direct from J&S ?

I have a few more penny's to save but soon will go for the Handy lift table. I have worked all my life, now it is time to make some of that work easier on this old body.

I had the Handy lift table and sold it and got the J&S. Easier to get out of the way and can get closer to the trike/bike . Leaning over the Handy killed my back for some reason.

I have had slide under lifts and they work fine, this go around I want drive on, lift up trike type. (sounds like we are going opposite directions on this one) I have worked off several different types of lift tables and I preferred the Handy with trike extensions. I will also use it for the FXSTS. I have plenty of room so space not an issue.

One big factor that you have to consider when buying the lift tables is don't get the lift table for the ATV's. Get the lift with the trike extensions. like Dennis said. It leaves the area in front of the rear wheels narrow like for a 2 wheel lift.
Only wide where it needs to be !

Mine had the ATV extensions. I guess I could have got the trike extensions but I have been moving that thing around and tripping over it for for almost 20 years so my issue was not just the back pain but the space it took up. When I saw the J&S I jumped on it. The J&S works great for my needs. The Handy is a great lift and I built and rebuilt many Harley's on it but don't plan on doing that anymore. You will love it.

I've had my Handy Lift now for about 7 years. We bought it when I converted my 2006 Ultra to a trike. At that time we bought the trike extensions also. Later we bought an ATV and I bought the ATV extensions. The trike wings never went back on. I like having the extra space as a work area or to lay tools. When the lift is not in use for a MC I use it as a work table for other projects.

We might get one of the J&S Lifts at a later date.
