If Harley made that back in 2011, I would have bought it... When I got my 11 T/G I really didn't think I'll like or need the raido, Faring and the top box... But that's the only way they came.. Now I find on long runs I can't ride without that stuff.

If I didn't just get a two wheeler [Victory] to kick around on short runs' The Freewheeler would be in my garage next to the T/G..

Harley made the Street Glide version only in 2010 and 2011 -
this was the stripped down TriGlide, Wife /I both have the '10
and love them....

I really like the looks of this. Add a few things to it of course such as a backrest, the rear backrest, luggage rack, windshield and some highway pegs. I'd gladly give up the radio ect (spend many miles/hours with mine turned off). Lack of storage is the one downside that I see so far. Nothing that a Tag along trailer wouldn't fix though.

My 2009 only has 60,000 miles on it. I won't be buying a Freewheeler this coming year. But a 2016 could be in the plans......

Good looking Harley design and a price a guy could live with.
I guess I would be a good choice for someone who isn't an old geezer like me.
I wouldn't mind having it for local runs and as someone said a small trailer would do the trick.



I keep waiting for Harley to pull their head out of the sand and turn the road glide into an ultra and trike it?
My old tour glide still shines in that respect.

Trying to talk wife into trading her SPORTSTER TRIKE in on one.

HD is going to sell about eleventy jillion of these. And at $8,000+ for a solid color under a triglide solid color price it looks like a deal. Windscreen and you are good to go.

Trunk is 2 cubic feet. Your tour pac is 2.2. Not getting much in there.

I happened to be at the dealer this morning and we were talking about them. The Salesman said they are based on a softail. He should have them by Mid September.

I have also heard that the Freewheeler is based on a softail, and I'm curious as to what the platform really is. Seems foolish to me to develop another trike chasis once one is already in place. But then, the MoCo has never been predictable...

Don't know what's wrong with me, but I can't stand the look of it. Maybe the low wide rear end - something's missing - tour-pak maybe??

It looks too out of proportion. Don't like the fenders at all. At least you don't have to get on your knees to load like you do on the TriGlide.

All that mass in back and all you get is 2.2 cu ft.? Bummer. Hope it does well though - maybe more trike models will follow?

Oh well, like what was said, it's going to sell well - just not to the young pups - maybe middle agers and women. Just the thought of 3 wheels turns most people (real bikers)off.

Evening Gent's. I just got back from WILD PRAIRIE HD. They had one sitting outside. You know at 1st I didn't think they would look good. Just going by the pictures and all. But up close its pretty cool Idea. I sat on it for a few mins while my grandson watched me. I would think that would be a good all around town scoot. But my wife & I both like the fairing, radio, gauges, backrest, & tour pac. Is what we want.

If we had the coins. I'd get one for her & put a windshield on it for her. "MY opinion"

I like everything except the fenders and the lack of trunk space. The fenders look like the came off of a bike and they will produce good rooster tails in the rain.

I still like my 11 XXX though. I've taken my after market tour pak off and added the luggage rack/sissy bar, so it looks like the Freewheeler with a fairing. I'll kept til the engine craps out, then it will be Freewheeler time.

I just read a little about this, and it says it has a hydraulic assist and shift clutch lever. Does anyone know what this means, or is it just a misprint?

I would have to guess it's based on the RK, judging by the side covers and a single photo I saw with the RK front end and headlight nacelle. I wouldn't think, like others, that they would construct another trike chassis, when, what they have will work.

I also think the storage capacity is too small, for what it appears to have. Being able to hold 2 helmets, is not anything to brag about for a "trunk".

I'm not sure about the rear fenders, either. But, with a $25K starting price, and having to add, at least a windshield and a seat for two up touring, I won't be getting one anytime soon. I'll just have to convert the old RK someday.

Looking again at the photo: that is not a RK front end, it appears to be a Fat Boy! Also, looking at the primary cover-it appears to be longer and could be a softail derivative rather than from the touring platform???
