I know a lot you have glued/taped on a lot of chrome pieces to your ride including myself.
But haven't read anything about removing old-worn pieces from your ride without tearing up your finish. How to,any suggestions?

I don't know how old, old is.
But most of the added on parts on my bike use double sided tape. Of the 3M variety.
Just peel it off. Slowly and it shouldnt damage the paint.
If its the older whitish foam double sided tape that leaves a white strip of adhesive and some foam behind.
I use a heat gun and my fingernail. Scraping it off again slowly then use some Goop or similar cleaner to get the last of it off.
Goo be gone works. Heat gun or hair dryer to warm it up.
When I am gona fix something I will fix it. You don't have to bug me every 6 months.

Fishing line. Use a sawing motion.
Goo Gone or Goof Off. No damage to paint.
