On another note. I have been sorting the electrical bits again. Figuring what I am gonna do with the body side of things as I have previously figured the engine side of things.
Ordered a bunch of relays. Thinking I am gonna put the wiring inside the handlebar. Then put all the switches on the negative side of the relay coil. That way there will be no power in the handlebar. If something shorts out it would just be turned on and not smoking.

Balance shop sent a text.
They are done with the dynamic balancing.
Gonna have a big cc engine capable of 7500 rpm.
Now to get it back here and start building the bottom end. I still have machine work to do there also. I gotta lathe oil grooves in the main bearings and check oil clearance. I am gonna run a split main like #2 on #3. So fitment to check there.
Relays came in.
Modular bases that hook together whatever order you want.
Ahhhh...The "fun" of wiring & electrical hookups. It is extremely rewarding however, once its done.
This kind of goes without saying but since I didn't take the time to do it to my current trike I've got to throw it out there: Be sure to create a written schematic as you go, so down the road when repair or adders come up, you're prepared!!!

Well....
I have ford parts, chevy parts, mitsubishi parts, kawasaki parts, honda parts and a home built microsquirt computer to wire together.
A minimum of 6 fuses for the engine controlls.
Only 2 fuses left for the body stuff. Gonna be a stripped chopper with minimum niceties.
I have a few scooter pics and a little work to show. But I have been up to other things that consumed all my time.
At work right now.
Will put up some pics tonight possibly.
Made a bracket and drilled a few holes.
Mounts here.
Holds all the relays and fuse box.
A tight fit ... but it is all in there.
Started sorting wires.
And crimping ends on.
The bottom end is back from the balance shop.
Of course I had checked the static weights and knew things were pretty good there.
Pistons and rods have the slightest of work/ grind marks on them.
The crank has a couple corners ground on to get balance. No drillings. Not to bad.
The flywheel took more than expected as it is a forged fully machined unit.
The pressure plate took some work but not to bad for a pp.
And my self made hub/pulley/crank trigger was dead slick. No balance work to it at all.
And now for the rest of the week.

Most of yall have seen some news of the flooding in south LA
It is real bad down there.
I live about 2-1/2 hours drive due north from there.
One of my guys here has inlaws effected there. His wife was putting a little something together for them so he asked at work. God poked us in the side and said wake up. So we decided to do something and began looking for resources.
I tell ya this thing snowballed into tremendous proportions. We called and asked and then they called and on and on. We are heavily connected in the industrial world and we normally do things in a big kinda way anyhow so no backing down for us.
Donations just for asking.
Skids of water.
3000 hamburger buns on skids.
A trailer load of personal supplies, toothbrushes, toilet paper, ect.
That is basically an industrial ice chest for truck transport of food. So right there is 2000 chicken quarters.
Even skids of pet food.
Leaving out Saturday morn. Meeting in the parking lot. More trailers, one full of clothes, others with household supplies.
The uhaul full of food.
Convoy all the way over the next hill.
Water and supplies.
Six big grill trailers cooking at once.
Directly handed out about 3000 plates of food.
About 1000 were indirectly delivered.
And left the shelter with about 1000 meals to hand out.
We came back with nothing, took amazing amounts, wished that we had more to give.
When God tells you to do something do it with gusto, He will provide it.
This was not me, not my little company, just people who said yes and many donations and contributions.
That is frigging amazing man!!!!!!!!!!!

And I forgot to mention......
All this came together in three days and fed 5000 in a single day.
We are some tired folks.
I have not forgotten.
Just very busy with everything else.
So not much done the past couple weeks, but I do still hit it a lick every chance I get. Eventually something will make an interesting photo.

Made a little fixture.
Bored it to fit the split main bearings.
Bolted the bearings in it.
And now I have main bearings with internal oil passage grooves.
This one is a test cut on an old bearing.
I am cleaning on the case, prepping to assemble the bottom end.

That has always been a minor issue with the main bearings on bug motors. I've always thought it needed oil passages cut in them.
The rods get their oil from the mains.
It is in pulses as the holes in the crank align with the holes in the bearing.
The groove on the inside of the bearing should give the rods full time pressure.
Like i have said before, i am trying to have lots of flow, thin oil, at reasonable pressure.
Trying to get the bottom end together.
Suction side of the oil pump did not line up as well as I wanted. So I moved it over and enlarged it to match the pump.
Some assembly.
Is it an illusion, or are the cam/crank gears galled to some degree in the last pic?
Those gears are not new....but, are you looking at the moly smeared in the teeth?

O yeah...
And all H rated (130mph) tires now.
That's about were my will of self preservation kicks in.
