Ok,, I'm convinced that the Michelin Pilot Activ mounted in reverse is the way to go.
Couple of questions.

My tire size is 150/80R 17,,,what Michelin size would I use?

Also how do I get someone o mount it backwards, everyone I have talked to will not do it?

My trike is a 2000 Valkyrie Interstate.

If you can find a 150X 80 X17 REAR tire mount it on the front rim .

Michelin pilot Activ has a 150/70 17

That is as close as I have found.

Last season I wanted to put a Piloy Activ on my 1800 Wing. I could not get this tyre anywhere. The info I was told was that the Usa kept hold of them all. So the tyre must be a good one. I now have an Avon Cobra instead but will change to Pilot Activ when the Avon is scrubbed. Bye the way we are not allowed to put the tyre round the wrong way in this nanny state

I have the Pilot Activ mount backwards on my trike.
Sorry, it's put away for the winter, so I don't remember the size.
20,000 miles on it and it's still like new.

I went through this with my Valk as well as Michelin does not make the 150/80 17 size I needed. Scroll down to Tech Talk and the mechanical section, go to page #2 and a thread titled "Valkyrie front tire". There is a long discussion on this and what I ended up using. Probably can use the "search" function as well. The tire really is working well for me, mounted in the normal rotation.I have not experienced problems in the rain, but there may be some advantages with the reverse mount in dispersing the water?

Tire sizes don't vary (except perhaps by a millimeter or so) by brand. The MPA is one of several rear sport bike (bias cord body) tires that will work well on the front of trikes. It is the tire type and not the brand that is most important.

I have heard people having good luck with the Bridgestone Battle axe. That is all the info I have on this tire. not sure what size it is available in.

The BS is as good as the MPA in this application, at least on GL1800 trikes...
